If entry was through the property’s back door, most of the time spent inside, including the subduing of NG, happened well before the video footage.

Remove camera around 2:12 am, leave straight afterwards with NG, with blood spatter on the porch tiles showing the route out. That’s the sequence I’ve assumed ever since Levin said FBI agents told him the video footage was from 2:12 am. The moon shadow analyses posted here previously seem to back that up.

One question, though probably not an important one.

The perp could clearly open the front door from the inside in order to leave with NG, creating the droplets in the process. So if he was inside already and could open that door, why walk around the outside of the house again to remove the camera? The same thing applies if the person we see was part of a team. They were already inside, and later left through the front door. Why walk around the house?

Why didn’t he open the front door to remove the camera, which was mounted right next to the entrance?

He could even have used something from the house to help force the camera from its mount. He would mostly have avoided being on camera, though not entirely. (We’d have seen his gloved hand and his arm – the camera’s angle of view was so wide that we see the front door handle in the lower right of the footage.)

The likely walk around the house and the use of the lantana are probably indicators of something. I just don’t know what.

Did he worry that there was an alarm or sensor on that door, and want to delay opening it for as long as possible? Did he need to get something from his vehicle before removing the camera? Did he worry that the camera would record audio of NG if the front door were open? Were lights on inside, which would have switched the camera away from night mode when the door was opened?

I think it's possible that all of the nest cameras were disconnected at 1:47 a.m. when the door bell nest camera was. Since the door nest camera was battery operated it still maintained it's functions even though it was disconnected - unlike the wired ones. If the nest cameras were smashed throughout the house after being disconnected the perp might have went out of the back of the house in the process and then walked to the front porch to destroy the door nest camera. This would explain him raising his fist to strike it from the side but then realized that the camera was active. He then tried to block the view of him with his fist. At this time he might have realized that this door camera was different from the other ones. He looks like he tries to attempt to remove it and then looks for something to help him - the lantana.

No way to even know if this is an official search, or crime scene-tourism? Anything an investigator might find couldn't even be linked to the crime at this point, hundreds of random people have been in front of her house since she has been missing.
It was "tourism"/sleuthing, they were only searching the easements/side of the road, not actually entering onto Nancy's property (shown on several YT livestreams).
Edit: a clearer photo of the metal detector people from Max Gorden/Fox

Might be interesting to know if front door was unlocked.

Yea. Because that’s what you look for a month after a crime, not right after a crime.
I think the people looking are just random strangers trying to help search. They aren't LE.

Possible. So the sequence would be: creeps about, takes camera at about 2:12 am, enters through rear, leaves by front door before 2:28? Possible use of a signal jammer at 1:47 am, perhaps to prevent recording of the vehicle entering?
That's how I imagine it with what we know. I think he was looking for an access point and it was dark enough to slow him down. I think he chose to prep the front door because it was easier than doing it after the fact because I think the calm PG wasn't likely so calm at that point and knew it might be a bad time to cover tracks.

It doesn't look official.

Latana was the perimeter person? Guard, outside, driver, look out. Someone else was the inside man.

Completely agree. I am a public information officer and we are literally trained to speak to the media, especially on a high-visibility case like this one.

Do you work for an unincorporated county sheriff’s department?

Counties have the elected sheriff speak instead of a specialized non-sworn person, imo.

I believe public information officers are more likely in cities. Counties don’t have the tax base to employ a one, imo.

I believe county sheriff’s offices generally have low budgets and have to devote their funds to patrol and jails.

Pima County SO runs the detention center that services metro Tucson and all of Pima County.

So I don’t find it unusual there is no PIO.

There really isn’t a need, imo. The far flung followers clamoring for information then picking over it with a red pen at the ready is their want not a need, imo.

Anyone else is going to understand that the details of the investigation are best left in generalizations with protected details, hopefully, found out at a trial.

All imo

It's possible that he had not yet entered the home at 2:12 a.m. but something caused that door nest camera to disconnect at 1:47 a.m.
And if the multiple nest cameras around the home were smashed/destroyed then that would also require time to do.

Bingo. I think the weird hand motion was him trying to see if there was indeed a small light on the camera.

They could have at least given the sheriff some sort of media training, it seems he did not have any based on his media appearances - JMO

Sheriff Nanos stated the doorbell camera has not been located.

I don't think I realized this until know - I guess I just assumed they had it in their possession, which is not very smart of me! One more thing to look for on the side of the road I suppose..

I would love to see PCSD’s case file and the FBI’s case file. I know they’re “working together” but I don’t know if I believe the FBI sharing everything they have with Nano’s press tour. MOO
