If I had to come up with an explanation on this point (I don't remotely think this is what actually happened) it could be that if they were a hired goon, maybe they were told to get the gems but if there aren't any in the house, take the owner so they could find out where the gems are but they got the wrong house and didn't know what the owner of the 'gem house' looked like

I don't think that's what happened either. Any dealer holding gems worth real money would not be holding them at home. There are secure facilities that specialize in that sort of thing.

It's not! It was reported by a CourtTV reporter on February 5th-- I was watching the livestream and heard him say he was talking to one of her neighbors whose cameras also cut out on the night she was kidnapped. Then I couldn't find video of the livestream anywhere and no other reporters mentioned it since then. I think LE has known about this but they are finally running it down in more detail after exhausting other leads that they may have thought more promising.

Ring owners have the ability to delete video clips. Could someone have purposefully deleted clips during that time period?

That's a possibility, but I'd be surprised if that was the case. I suppose some could volunteer their DNA but some likely would not. Just makes me wonder.

Likely the glove owner had done his DNA with Family Tree DNA or had uploaded it to FTDNA or they uploaded it to GED Match. Those two public databases are open to LE, if the user checks the LE Option box.

If they didn’t personally upload their DNA, someone close to them likely did. Thus LE could quickly deduce who the DNA belonged to.

One branch of my tree, on the English side, has a murderer, that Parabon was involved in.

For the neighbors reporting their dog barking and a camera outage around the time as the intruder was at Nancy Guthrie’s house:

it appears they may have a camera that uses hardwiring (Ethernet cable), in which case a wifi jammer wouldn’t work.

That looks to be a standard Ring Stick Up Cam which does not offer an ethernet connection. That cord is likely just power for the camera and not data. It will still be wifi. They did offer a camera that was capable of using one cable for power and ethernet, but there were some difference in the appearance of the camera and it does not match this one.

No--it is the house next door on the same side of street.
They have been to this house many many many many many times.
Something about this house has piqued their interest more than any other, IMO.
They keep going back.......
Remember--LE was seen behind this house going removing the manhole cover and probing with a pole back on Feb 8th.

As an aside--is this also the house where the lady resident has been antagonistic/hostile towards the media?
Upthread there was video of a resident lashing out at reporters. Anyone know if this is the same house/resident?

I've seen a ton of resentment online about the attention this case has received. I understand the sentiment but don't begrudge anybody the support they get. Regardless, many, many people seem angry.

Just asking, where are you seeing this resentment? Online, Chatrooms? I tend to spend a good amount of time online and I have not come across “wide spread resentment “for the NG case.

It looks like ring used to offer a Stick-Up Camera Elite which was PoE. This camera is maybe now marketed as Ring's Pro. However, they indicate the Pro is POE+ which is foreign to me.

All this security talk makes me think fondly of the last time I had a security system. ADT. It let off the most blood curdling alarm and was connected to the police department. We had several false alarms and one break-in the middle of the day while we were home. She was caught by my 5 year old son’s description and went on trial for murdering an old lady nearby. When I see all the Nest and Ring posts on Nextdoor of robbed homes and thief photos I wonder if they ever deter crime. These days I just have a dog and husband.

This case is one of the worst. Nancy could have been my mom.
I am truly heartbroken over this one PLEASE pray for resolution, then we will have acceptance.

It is heartbreaking. As someone said; Nancy looked like everyones’ grandmother.
That elderly woman who was killed in her home last week in a small Utah town is similar in its heart wrenching character. When I first read about I thought; “could she ever have imagined her life would end because a violent man wanted her car?” Or similarly the two lady hikers killed by the same man.

These things boggle the mind-and my heart goes out to the surviving loved ones..

I apologize if I missed something, but why are we thinking he kept the light in his mouth while talking to NG? It seems it would be simple enough to stick it in his pocket, as well as dangerous to talk with that thing in his mouth.

1. Because of the double masks, one of them a mesh mask with fake teeth we think, perhaps it is difficult to take the light in and out of his mouth. Someone correct me on this point if need be.

2. He would be extremely foolish to take a DNA rich mouth light (because it is covered in saliva) in and out of his mouth with his gloves. The light could fall on the floor and he might also touch things in the home with his gloves.

3. Perhaps he needs the light to view the interior of the home. It might be foolish to turn the lights on in the middle of the night and alert the neighbors.

4. Yes I also wondered about how safe it is to walk around with that thing in his mouth.

5. Someone suggested that the light was not actually in his mouth but near the fake set of mask teeth to look like it was in his mouth.

I'm also deeply interested in the NG case and spend as much time as I can following it. But I'm also trying to follow global current events which impact not only our family but also millions of people. I only have so much time in the day to follow the news. That being said, I really hope the media doesn't give up on the NG story; I don't think they have. I agree that the ordinances for the media to leave weren't helpful, but I also think that the lack of clear progress (at the surface level view) probably has something to do the slowdown in reporting.

I believe once there's a break in the case that the widespread media will be all over it again.

I agree that the media is vital in this case and all cases like the ones we typically follow. There is no doubt that they would rather be covering it, if for the ad revenue alone, but unfortunately law enforcement took the case and ran away from them.

The withholding of the most basic information, along with what I feel are intentional contradictions being seeded within the public narrative, is unfortunate not merely for those of us who are captivated by the case and who care, but particularly for those who live nearby and in greater Tucson proper. Public safety is the foremost and most solemn duty of all elected officials and those who swore an oath and serve under them. "Protecting the integrity of the case" is secondary at best, but probably closer to tertiary.

In any case, I suppose the next election will likely take care of any of that.

It's possible LE could just be asking the neighbor's this just to gain some intel into someone they may be suspicious of but don't have enough to get a warrant. Just a thought. Generally speaking - Not blaming anybody in particular.
