The gun that they took apart & tossed was the .25 caliber little pistol that LAL carried & used to shoot Carson 4 times that night. There was no talk, IIRC, about a .9 mil in the Carson case. Carson was shot with that hand-sized .25 and the "baby gauge" sawed-off shotgun that Atwater used to blow a hole in her head. Grrrrr.

I tried looking up crime statistics last night and failed big time. I guess I didn't put in the right info to begin with.

I just know that Lawrence, KS has had several murders in the last few yrs, and it pretty much stands alone in the county. There are a few small towns around but nothing like Raleigh-Durham or in that area.

Kansas City in a whole other area, as you have KC, KS and KC, MO, combined makes this huge 600,000 plus all of the burbs around. I just added up all of the county's that are in the KC area and that population is 1,623,996. The crime in KC is horrific with murders and stand offs daily, etc.

Ok enough of that, we both know crime is horrible and my city's are no worse than yours!

Hi, Jewels! Yes, as we're seeing -- in the small KS town that you mentioned and in Chapel Hill, a "smallish" town where a fairly large University of North Carolina (the Tarheels) lives. Crime is even creeping into those "little" places. Durham, NC, has always had its share of crimes -- it's gotta be higher than average -- and Durham is about 10 miles from Chapel Hill/a 10-minute drive.

And, good pal, don't give me too much credit for digging up stuff!! I had a tuff time finding just murder stats -- I guess it's a stat that no one wants to publish, and it took me a while (you should see how Real Estate Cos. wiggle!!), but I did find a bit...sadly.

Apparently Ms defense lady needs directed as to how she may ask her questions. Or she will open up a whole other can of worms. :worms: :gasp:

Agreed, Jewels. All I can say here is the DT has got to try -- and failing being upheld in this trial, they will try to plant "seeds" for appeal. It's truly an uphill battle, for sure. I have seen some really near-detestable (word?) def. attys, but Shield is not one, IMHO -- all she has is straws at which to grasp. It's desperate-time for the def. table, all the way. Let's hope it stays that way. That man needs to stay out of sight, mind, and off the streets for the rest of his life. Grrrrrr.

Okay, Peeps -- Looks like the door has been blown wide open for the Carson murder scene -- and this witness was the main investigator, and she was one of the best I've ever seen. Amazing memory.

Little Eve is helping out in the only way she can -- and she is the only one who can. Bless her and her family.

I'd hate to be sitting on this kind of case where every other few hours we have to leave, just to sit in a small airless room and play with some string for a couple of hours until recalled to the court.

Why isn't all this ironed out before the jury was seated?

And what's up with the evidence from Eve's murder spilling into this trial? That would poison my mind that the defendant was a serial killer with the conscience of a tsetse fly.

I either missed it or was playing with opening my can of coke zero so I missed it. What did the defense say/do to 'open the door' to Eve's murder? TIA
