NC - Betty Wheeler, 56, Barnardsville, 22 September 2025

Betty Wheeler has been missing since this morning. This is very concerning to her friends and neighbors on Facebook. I'm somewhat local, and the chatter I'm seeing is concerning to me as well. There are no msm reports that explain why she was out at 2:30am, but you can find comments that explain it. I do believe local law enforcement will take this one seriously. I hope they find her soon.

Sounds like that time of the morning was her usual routine with regards to arriving for a early work shift. There are 15 Betty Wheelers in North Carolina so I couldn't identify any public records specific to her (family, recent legal issues, etc). She sure has a lot of people sharing her missing information - I hope that helps find her soon.

I found a BW in Weaverville NC that looks to be the missing woman. (Very close to Barnardsville.)

In reading comments on media posts, it seems rather concerning. I hope Betty is safe.

More than 80 responders using K-9 units and drones to locate 56-year-old Betty Wheeler

More than 80 people are involved in the search (local fire departments, the SBI, the North Carolina Department of Corrections and community volunteers), including with drones and K-9s. The search location is near Dillingham and Stoney Fork roads.

Investigators said they believe Wheeler’s disappearance is a missing persons case and do not suspect criminal activity.
