Is this it??

Yep, I think that is the hat.

So it's a 1965 Astros cap. Only the perps hat doesn't look like a fitted cap.

I think that guy would stick out like a sore thumb in the area where she was found - clothing that type, etc. I hope someone recognizes him asap. Still find this hard to believe that is was just random and not targeted.

Esp if he's driving around with others in the back seat; even more attention. I'm with you; not random.

It could also be a Dallas Cowboys logo.

Dunno - but from WRAL: http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/2545076/

"Two photographs show a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He is riding in a sport-utility vehicle with a roof rack that might have been Carson's. Officers emphasized they did not definitively know if the vehicle belonged to Carson.
A third photograph shows a green ball cap with an orange star that the man was wearing.

I'm curious why LE did not release a color photo since it appears they have one of the cap at least - I suspect of other things as well - hard to guess from a black and white photo what color the cap is.

Thanks for the link!

The guy in photo 7 could easily be the perp, SS.

Now look in the back passenger-side seat of the WRAL photo. Is that a person slumped into the corner??

Sure looks that way to me!! You can see the outline of the dark colored clothing and face. Wow. So he wasn't alone....or was she in the back? (I think that scares me even more.)

This would be unbelievable if it turns out to be him. It could be a relative of his though, if it's not him. Successful brother, jealous sibling...

these are good pics. if the cops don't know who it is yet, they soon will IMO. someone out there will recognize this man and will be compelled to do the right thing and turn him into the authorities.

With the $25,000 reward you would think that one of his fellow thugs would turn him in!

They are circulating some good clear pictures out there, so I pray the arrest of this creep comes soon.

He looks really young to me. Unbelievable, the contrast of the 2 paths each one took in life!

I am sickened that one human being can act upon a fellow human being with such total disregard for human life! Sickening!:furious:

Are the Hoover Crips local to Chapel Hill or Durham?

He's a gang member.
H ( on the hat ) stands for Hoover crips gang.
We must have been on the same wave length as I had been looking for that exact hat from the Hoover Crips, too. Good find!! Note the way the bill is off to one side, too. This is another sign.

However, being gang related means chances are there won't be anyone coming forward to turn them in. They don't snitch and people are afraid to testify against them...because it means they risk retalliation.

This also could mean the murder in Auburn is related tho. It could have been a gang initiation on a larger scale.

The article about the crips says they're a nation wide African American gang.
I am naieve, but I didn't ever think about gang members in Chapel Hill area!

Scarey world we live in!

If you google NC gangs...you will find it shocking. It is a hotbed of gang activity according to things I have been reading today.

The 52 Hoover Crips gang started in LA, but has branched out all across the country. There are many, many offshoots...but they are as dangerous as the original.

In those pics I posted above, doesn't it look like someone is in the back seat of the car?
