According to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, the home invasion occurred on Checkmate Court in Cameron on June 14. The victims said five or six suspects assaulted them and stole two vehicles. Three of the victims were treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies say they apprehended one of the suspects, a 17-year-old juvenile, with the assistance of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 2. Later that day, a second suspect, 25-year-old Isaiah Rashun Speed, was arrested in Detroit, MI by the Michigan State Police. A third suspect, 22-year-old Christopher Jamal Richardson, was arrested on Oct. 9 by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

In October, Christopher Jamal Richardson, 22, Isaiah Rashun Speed, 25, and a 17-year-old juvenile were arrested in connection with the crimes. They each face the following charges:

• First-degree burglary
• Robbery with a dangerous weapon
• Conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon
• Second-degree kidnapping
• Felony possession of stolen motor vehicle
• Felony possession of stolen goods
• Assault inflicting serious injury
• Assault with a deadly weapon

WRAL News on Wednesday spoke with Sheriff Wayne Coats, who said he still doesn't know why this family was targeted. In June, Coats described the scene as the "most heinous" he had ever experienced.
