Thank you. Uggh so this male in video at Sugar Mountain physically resembles OC, who is the relative that mom allegedly contacted by phone about "smuggling" Madi away and who then proceeded to make a bunch of phone calls to others involved in drugs/trafficking and subject to wire tapping (T3).

See, I don't believe mom smuggled Madi away for her safety. I don't buy it. That leaves me worrying that mom and CP were involved in drugs/trafficking themselves and that Madi was placed elsewhere as some sort of leverage against one or both of them. Either that or they have killed her and constructed some elaborate he/said she/said plan to incriminate one another leaving them both to get off.

Hate this case
The easist way to keep your lie straight is to keep it somewhat true. Maybe CP and DC were involved in some sort of trafficking, and maybe she did give MC to her relative for safety reasons. She is trying to get out of jail to join her so easiest to place the blame on CP? All my speculation and opinions. But the possible sighting of Madalina, after they had been arrested, could be a good thing. They brought the distant relative in not long after, he might have already passed her off. I wonder if and what they have found of the CA sighting. The area is really remote and does not give me a lot of hope that the town is huge on cameras. But those smaller places also tend to have more people notice when you're from out of town. Seems like a lot of people go there to camp.

Related to a side hustle, to generate income, in a coercive control situation?

I don't really believe this but..... what if she was squirreling money away so she and Madalina could escape, hiding money in couch cushions, which once removed left notable deficits so she burned the couch. Garbage pickup might've been a delay she couldn't wait for....

I think the women WERE in danger, grave danger.

I'm parking myself here. I think Madalina's mother believes her silence is Madalina's best chance to live.

But then I've watched every season of Ozarks...

Only laughing at the Ozarks mention.

I don't believe she was hiding money in couch cushions or that her silence is keeping Madalina safe.

I was actually hoping to talk myself out of assuming it was for nefarious reasons, by learning there are legit reasons.
I can't think of a legit reason to have 25 email addresses.
I think the more pertinent question is why? What was she hiding? And from whom?

Just because someone can leave the house, didn't mean they aren't a captive in their own home. Especially if the controller has pulled you into criminal enterprises, to make sure you never talk to police.

i think the answer lies in whom she was shielding her identity/activity from..

Yeah, it’s a little weird.

i could talk people through, like, 12 legitimately before I started running out of ideas; and a couple of those ideas involve 20-30 years’ experiences, a couple irretrievably lost passwords, etc.

also, the question is, are they all currently in use.

If so, that’s very different from a person who may have college email, work email, public high school email, cable Internet utilities they’ve parted ways with, etc.

Yes, I’ve had 6 or 7 - since 1994 - for similar reasons. Currently I have 3, each has a specific purpose. 25 really pushes it, especially since she also has FB and a number of other chat apps.

Also, as an aside… I’m feeling a little dull today but how exactly did DC transition from telling LE she contacted a relative to keep Madalina safe (as evidenced by numerous conversations between them) to telling someone on the phone that she thought CP sold her? It can’t be both.

Not to mention both parents must have been told by their attorneys that nothing is private in jail yet one is blabbing on the phone and the other is keeping a diary? WTH?

Are we looking at self-serving misdirection or two ignorant criminals? Everything about this case stinks. I fear for Madalina. JMO

I do not believe the CA sighting is real, there is a CA Highway Patrol station across the street, and from what I can tell the person that came in contact with the girl joined a FB group on June 25, the sighting was on July 5. All along I thought that OC the only relative was a middle man either to get Madalina back or to sell her. The search warrant from the beginning said reason for the warrant "Kidnapping". I believe that DC and CP were both in the drug trafficking business. Now it's leading to DC and CP are blaming each other to cover their butt's. ex. DC had a lot of money, and CP had a lot of money. I pray that Madalina can be found safe.

I feel that in 2022/2023, having 25 email addresses is not as much of a red flag as carrying around a bag of cash is. Cash? Well presumably LE would have found the cash if it weren't transferred or deposited...or they are tracing all of the parents' financial info, so let's see if that leads anywhere. And speaking of finances, is it now legit for LE to get a warrant regarding Mr. Cebanu's finances. Follow the money, maybe.

25 email addresses?????

Only relative in the US? I wonder if this relativ r ever stayed with them. Some guests sleep on couches.... were we burning DNA so the couch couldn't link to a name?

I feel like I'm reading True Crime & Espionage...

Was one parent plotting one thing (selling A CHILD) and the other was trying to subvert that? Double crossing...was one limited by means, control and had to get Madalina out of there or was no one/neither looking out for her?

If Madalina is alive, in the company of family, here or abroad, ends don't justify means, but it'd be an extraordinary outcome if the other choice was the horror of sex trsfficking/trade.

My bias is probably showing but I think a picture is emerging.

If your baby was a pawn in someone else's financial affairs and you were nearly utterly unresourced to stop it, while fully distrustong of the US govt, how far might you go to protect your child, at all cost?

I'd go to jail, if it meant my child had safe passage.

This is what I have been saying since the beginning. There has always been something off in regard to her being 'missing.' I have always felt she was alive, and her DC was hiding her for some reason or another and is willing to stay in jail to keep her 'safe' (in DC's opinion).
If the last sighting is real, there is a good chance she is not even in the States anymore.

December 2 Diana texted that she was with Madalina.

December 3 Diana is seen getting an oil change in Hickory. The attendant said he saw toys in the car but he didn’t see Madalina or any child.

December 4 Diana went to the mountains supposedly in search of Madalina.

December 15 school officials are notified that Madalina is missing.

December 16 Sugar Mountain PD provided surveillance photos that fit descriptions of Madalina and Diana’s relative. The pair were also spotted at Lowe’s Food in Linville.

December 18 DC and CP are arrested.

Arraignment hearing for both on August 17.

Authorities wrote in one search warrant that Palmiter was known to use notebooks to remember simple day-to-day tasks, and also journal his thoughts and opinions.

Investigators decided to place an informant in the jail’s housing pod with him. At one point, Palmiter told him he was remembering “the events regarding Madalina and was writing the recalled events down.” The informant last saw him writing notes on March 8.

After learning of that information from the informant, investigators seized Palmiter’s notebooks and journals, as well as paper towels, napkins, and several other surfaces that could be used for writing.

While listening in on her calls from jail, police heard Madalina Cojocari’s mother raise the possibility that the girl’s step-father gave her “away for money,” newly-unsealed court records show.
  • An informant was used by investigators to help gather information on Palmiter while he was in custody at the Mecklenburg County Jail. Information gathered by the informant led to authorities executing a search warrant in Palmiter’s jail cell to obtain notebooks, journals, and any other written material found inside the cell. Most of the notes were used for Palmiter to remember basic day to day tasks, according to the warrants.
  • Investigators also pulled information from Diana Cojocari and Palmiter’s personal emails and cell phone records.
  • Information from a recorded jail call released in one of the warrants claims Diana Cojocari and her mother discussed a theory that Palmiter gave “the girl” away for money.
  • A hard drive belonging to Diana Cojocari was seized

CORNELIUS, N.C. — Newly unsealed search warrants in the case of missing Cornelius girl Madalina Cojocari reveal that on Dec. 16, 2022 surveillance photos of a child and man in Sugar Mountain "were physically consistent" with the missing girl and her only known blood relative in the United States. A police report also indicated the pair were spotted at a Lowe’s food in Linville.

"I think that's the biggest thing and I would certainly be interviewing that person looking for other camera video -- who he was with that day," said Dr. Roy Taylor, a law enforcement consultant.

Documents revealed a recorded phone call from Palmiter to his brother and sister-in-law, where he said Diana “had a lot of cash with her.” During the same call, Palmiter said “financial stuff” was coming up, which his brother told him “not to worry about.”

During an interview on Dec. 16, one day after Madalina was reported missing, a Facebook message from Palmiter to Mary Palmiter McCreary said “we are in some kind of investigation, Madi is missing and the local police have taken all our electronics, luckily I have an old phone, although they did not take my person computer, prob cause they overlooked it, Diana is using it now to call her parents.”

While the case remains an active investigation, and authorities have not linked Madalina’s case to human trafficking, one of the investigators listed on the search warrant is a state agent who investigates such cases.

“Between 30 and 50 percent of all human trafficking actually happens at the hands of family members....the children often tend to be much younger, generally under the age of 12,” Shawna Pagano, Charlotte Metro Human Trafficking Task Force board president, said. “Sometimes...they’re hidden in plain sight.”

“Traffickers will take victims and they’ll transport them along major interstates to big cities where they can then sell their victims,” she said. “They stop along these truck stops and big cities and airports and things like that where they know they’ll essentially have a demand to meet the supply.”

I don't know if I think the stepfather is involved, but I 100% think DC is shady as F, she seems extremely calculating to me, an example being that she clearly knows her phonecalls from jail are being monitored so she uses them to try to set the blame on her husband.

I believe she is responsible for Madalina's disappearance, I just can't decide if it was to keep her out of harms way because DC and possibly CP were involved in criminal activities that could put Madalina at risk, or if she is a stone cold b**ch who sold her child with no regrets when she didn't want her anymore, or to save her own skin somehow.

My opinion hasn't changed. I believe they are both responsible for M's disappearance and I doubt what they did was in their daughter's best interests. I'm open to new thinking but need to hear LE clearly weigh-in on the trafficking angle.

Just wanted to confirm...Octavian Cebanu is not a named suspect in this case, correct?

I don't believe so? Haven't heard that name mentioned.

Not that I have seen although he is the only relative they have mentioned living in the US.

He is the only relative of MC residing the US. OC claims that DC asked him to smuggle MC. More information in the link.

It’s interesting that LE says the December 16 surveillance video sightings of Madalina and the relative are only “physically consistent” with their description, implying they haven’t been officially confirmed.

It’s not clear whether or not the relative OC is also missing. If so then why has that not been reported in msm? If not missing then LE must have interviewed him yet he’s not even been called a POI. LE should be all over him.

The more we learn the more nothing makes sense. There’s no evidence that Madalina is safe or even alive; her mother sits in jail talking about bags of money and accusing CP of trafficking her child. Crazy.

All my own opinion.
