Well, I gave my honest opinion early after the arrest. IMO, there is not enough evidence to try him for first degree murder. Yes, there is evidence of him disposing of Mariah's body, but it appears, to me at least, that it's a "she said, he said" on anything involving who gave the overdose of chloraform. JMO.

IMO the female half of this sordid situation will likely be front and center at the trial, giving evidence against him. Otherwise, she would be in jail right along with him. I hate to see her getting off without any punishment but It may have been a matter of who talked first.

I wanted to attend the trial but the delay has made it unlikely that I’ll be able to do so.

Just received the Onslow County Criminal Court calendar for Monday 11/14/22. Still does not have Earl Kimrey listed for trial.

I've been hoping all along that the mother would be equally charged. Also, something for you to think about. Someone directed LE to Mariah's location exactly to the spot twenty five miles away in hunting lands. IMO, you had to be there to know that. It wasn't Earl Kimrey.

LOL, I just raced home to post this. At last! I received all the court calendars last night and he was not listed. Very short notice.

Strange. I received all the court calendars today for trials starting 12/12/22. Kimrey is still not showing up.
But it's on my local news channel that it does indeed start Monday.

Good question. It doesn't say that the trial is starting, just that he will appear. Just me speculating here, but it could be a hearing to move the trial to another location or maybe he has accepted a plea deal. Don't know. This case has been under a gag order since the beginning.

Great news, thank you. I've been feeling under the weather but by golly this has perked me up.

Yes, that was my thought as well. I'd think if the trial was happening, it would have been listed and known about prior to today. At least there's some court movement though. Despite some delays due to Covid, I've followed so many cases here that occured after this case that have already been tried and sentenced. I've never understood why this particular case has moved so very slowly. It's been very frustrating.
