Nodding my head vigorously in agreement. Especially with your last statement.

Hate to nitpick linguisitics, but I am going to anyway, 'home safely' as a text seems... odd from an early 20's female. Kiddo and her crew tend to text minimally when reporting in. i.e. 'home' or 'home safe' and that is usually only when driving as DD or on highway. I'm sure I'm making far too much of it, but the word 'safely' seems odd in context. :blushing:

Just wondering if that would be a word that Nick would use, safely. Not likely to me.

You may send a Got home safe text to a sibling, Mom or friend at the bar who wanted to know you made it home or friend worried about her being out alone (if that was the case).
Remember there was a 2nd test message being kept private.

curious when the safe text sent. Was it within minutes after leaving bar and pinging off local cell phone tower? Or later? IF NH took her home, then did something to he while en route ... are we to think that he drove to her place with her restrained or knocked out in car, sent text, then drove to resting place and hid the phone? Or did she send text before she even left bar to appease someone and lead them to believe she arrived home earlier in the evening....

Some random person wouldn't care about informing KB's friend or whoever that KB "made it home safely." I am surmising it was someone with her who knew she was supposed to report back when she got home and this person is the one who sent the txt msg. I don't think she ever made it as far as her apartment complex and the sending of the txt msg was a red herring to try and remove this person from being the target.

The LE has not officially stated if the message was actually sent at all. Also, no time stamp has been placed on supposed message.

He was in prison at 16! doesnt seem like it to me.

To me it's the word "safely" that seems strange. Isn't it implied if you got home and are texting you got there, you are safe? This is IMO a red herring...meant to create an impression that KB arrived home. I'm not buying it, no way.

Delivery confirmation is dependent upon similar carriers. Phones deliver 2 types of confirmations (just like e-mails) One is a sent and one is a delivered. You must be on the same network to receive both.

Sent - Your service provider successfully relayed your message to their provider
Received - Their service provider successfully relayed your message to them

Agree. RIM BBM specifically does show 'read' though ;p Just sayin'

Okay, so nick was not the bouncer, but he did stay late to help clean up the bar at times, carded people, dumped trash etc. He rarely drank at the bar... It was not known he was a RSO, it was not known he lived behind bar on DOT property in a lean to. He has his own car and cell phone. Can you tell us was Nick employed anywhere that you know of? You don't have to tell us what he did or who he worked for? But as far as you know did he have gainful employment?

I cannot answer this.

Thought: Slip of finger, added extra letter. Autocorrect?

Per a transcript from the JVM show:

"HOLBERT: I played pool with them, and the male friend that she was with said he was leaving that Monday. It was a Sunday night. He said he was leaving Monday morning to go back for Florida. And I was talking to Kelli and she said she would like to come up there Friday."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1204/19/ijvm.01.html

If NH is telling the truth, the alleged male friend lives in Florida.

Just a thought and then I have to run for awhile.

I've noticed in recent cases and trials that cell phone/texts and puter messages have taken main stage in providing valuable evidence, tracking and providing clues/insight. I'm betting that cell companies and ISPs are even more forthcoming than ever (especially to law enforcement) in providing access and information to LE early. IMO, if they aren't ..... they should be. It's my bet that LE already knows everthing the cell phone record has to offer - whether they physically have the phone or not.
Later gators; see yall later... :fence:

That would also have to be on the same network, or have similar devices that request a read receipt from the user. (This could be disabled or enabled in message settings depending on the phone, or ask for each message.)

I don't know anything about voicemail, but if the voicemail 'box' gets full, then wouldn't the phone just ring and ring like that?

Other posters, who know alot more about this kind of stuff than I do, are providing scenarios.
Guess it depends on why kind of phone she's using and alot of other factors.

Venting session about the news media ~
So they have Kelli's friend on air who reports the tidbit about Kelli's phone. Many of us are listening and think - ooh, that means something. Well it does but we have no idea what it means. The Anchors just sit there and say 'so now her phone is ringing?' WTH does that mean? Where are the investigative reporters?

p.s. does anybody think the female anchor's hairstyle is cute?

I cannot answer this. He was NOT the bouncer. He told people he was.

I'm confused. He was NOT the bouncer however you WERE under the impression he was? He did empty trash and card people though right?

wonder how long ago this was?
I'm just wondering if the 'male friend' was actually the husband?

since Nick stated he didn't know she was married until after she went missing.

Mike B reportedly only recently went to Dad's in FL to visit - could be NH's 'male friend' was actually Mike.

VOH...do you know..Was Kelli wearing a wedding ring? I am pretty sure you can't answer that, but I would sure like to know.

Cell companies as well as Internet companies do not release information without a subpoena to do so. It's easy for LE to get those necessary legal documents, but without a signed document they are not getting anything from a carrier.
