I thought so as well, I thought however on Bing maps that near the bar you could see a red tent in the image. It might not be but it looked that way to me and it was in the lot next to the bar towards that exit ramp.

I wondered if the burn barrels where close to the tent ,because really it is cold outside and I am not seeing how Nick could stand being out in the cold for 3 months and I really think he didnt only sleep in the tent.

The burn barrels are close to the building's back exit.

and yes I believe he is with her family in her apt? His mother spoke highly of him, saying he loved her to death....

Unfortunate choice of words if that's how she worded it. <shudder>

Now I know I am 'old school' but I would never go to a club without my hubby and he wouldnt go without me. I also know that some hubbys dont have a problem if their wife goes out with the girls to a club. Some will even keep the children if they have any.

But I have to think in this case Kelli didnt tell her husband. Maybe she didnt know she was going at the time he called her. I dont know.

My prime suspect is the one that left the bar with her. I think he thought he was going to score with Kelli. I am sure she may have mentioned her husband was out of town. I dont think Kelli was receptive to his advances and he forced himself on her and after raping her he knew he had to kill her to keep her quiet. He knew he already had a criminal past. He knew if he let her live and she told then he would be going to prison again for many many years this time.

I dont think he would have ever told his 'story' if he knew he hadnt already been seen leaving the bar with her. He had to come clean and make up some stupid nonsensical story about dropping her off to walk the rest of the way home in the dark.

IMO
What strikes me as strange about her going their with this guy is this.I was in the military at her age and one thing that was good is you had so many people your own age to go out with. Then I looked at the date friday the 14th.That would make it the military's payday(you get payed twice a month).Payday coming on a friday means practically everyone not on duty was making plans to go out that night. There was probably 25 different people she worked with she could have made plans with or called so why this guy.

I was thinking that little shed with the 2 lawn chairs was near the lake they first checked also. This shed is surrounded by smallish pines. Thanks VOH. I recall that in one video (early on), they showed a small area in a clearing under some tall trees (mostly hardwoods) when they were talking about where NH stayed out back. In the video showing Froggys, looks like a nice tall stand of hardwoods in back. There appeared to be 2 tarp-like items laying on the ground. Not sure whether his "collapsed lean-too tent" or just tarps. I was under the impression this was noted as where his tent once was located.

This is interesting and would be good to know how close this chicken place is to Froggy's

Johnston County officials search for Blue Light Bandits

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — The Johnston County sheriff's office is asking the public for help tracking down two so-called "blue light bandits."

On Thursday night, a man claimed a car with a blue light on the dashboard pulled him over near Benson. The man said the driver told him he was speeding, but would not write him a ticket if he paid $200.

Last month, another man said he was pulled over in Benson by a police impersonator, who stole $600.

Around that same time in Fayetteville, a police impersonator robbed a woman leaving work at a Church's Chicken. It is not clear if any of the incidents are related. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information should call the Johnston County Sheriff's Office at 919-989-5000

I try not to get tunnel visioned and keep my options open but NH is in the lead ATM. Just a hunch here but because of NH previous living in a vacant house I'm wondering if there's any way to identify and look at other vacant houses in that area. I also think it would be good if locals would search their own lands and buildings when someone goes missing. I'm just talking out loud and fairly rhetorical. I'd also like Ft. Bragg to gather up for a few searches.

Would NH mislead anyone? Lets see, he didn't have a current address. He's been allegedly accused of an altered registration and I think fictitious tags. So IMO he has the propensity to mislead.

So where has nick been parking his car with its illegal tags all this time.

Well said, Ocean! I am with you on this one!

Well, the word is that NH was back at the bar within 10 to 15 minutes after dropping off Kelli.

That doesn't leave much time for NH to have done anything other than what he claims. Are there any other locals posting here that could add "weight" to this rumor?

I haven't seen this reported?

I think that is something that is going to make this case difficult if he is responsible.I get the feeling this guy spent sometime checking on remote out of the way places to stay.

I want to know what Kelli talked about with her co-workers on Friday. Usually people will discuss their weekend plans.

Did Kelli not have friends at Bragg she kept in touch with? IDK, but it seems odd to me that she was with a crowd that had nothing to do with her work or other Army friends.

This whole bar thing with NH is just so odd to me. Was she personal friends with anyone at the bar? There is something here that I can't put my finger on or figure out.

MOO

I have not read or heard that. Is that a rumor?

Thanks!

This is where the video showed, don't know if it's a tent or not, the sides possibly are.
leanto1.jpg

Do we know when this photo was taken? Perhaps the tent was taken down before this shot? Maybe that is where the confusion is happening? Is it possible the tent was nestled up to the lean-to when it was there?

Maybe VOH can share that bit after seeing this photo. Shouldn't be out of bounds, as MSM have mentioned both tent & lean-to, so should be okay? Dunno.

Scratch above - I see VOH already chimed in. TY

Where are you hearing this? I have not read this anywhere? Please link if you have one...tia

VOH, I went back and found my question, if you cannot answer, I truly understand and Thank you...

VOH,
If you have answered this before I apologize. But do you know how it was that Kelli ended up coming to Froggy's the first time. From what type bar I envision Froggy's to be, you don't usually just wander in and then become a "frequenter" working on becoming a "regular".

Did a "regular" or "frequenter" bring her to the bar initially? or did she go to a bar fundraiser perhaps, thus getting to know the other "regulars/frequenters" and felt at home in the atmosphere of it? TIA
