I tried to find source for WB post.. found this in Orlando Sentinel 4/20:

"Holbert, 25, has been described as a bar-hand at Froggy Bottoms but a man who identified himself as the owner said Holbert was a regular —not an employee. He said the man never drank, was quiet and came into the bar to shoot pool.

The Froggy Bottoms owner said Holbert lived in a tent behind the bar. Many witnesses saw the man leave the bar with Boredeaux the night she disappeared but he returned in "less than 10 minutes."

Holbert told a local television station in North Carolina that he was at the bar and gave Bordeaux a ride home. He said he dropped her off at the entrance of her neighborhood, according to ABC News 11 in Fayetteville. Bordeaux was reported missing by Fort Bragg when she failed report to work on Monday. She joined the United States Army in April 2011, family said.

Bordeaux told her family that she had planned to drink Friday night and had arranged to have friends take her home, her mother Johnna Henson said."

Oh thank you so much, now I feel a little better. There is no way that he could have done anything to Kelli in that amount of time. Now the only problem is, the source of that info, is it at all relible? If it WAS the bar owner then I believe it.

Since no one knew that Nick didn't have money, maybe the reason why the tab wasn't paid for is because Nick acted as though he was paying for the bill to impress Kelli. That could be why their tab was together. But he left without paying when Kelli wasn't paying attention because he has no job and no money.

BBM

I'm thinking along the same lines with that. And I'm betting he was planning on helping around the bar to cover it. But after what transpired that night, he was never able to do so. :twocents:

Thank you, curiousjo. It was that statement a poster made that made me change to the possible scenario I stated above.

OBE, there has been much speculation that they were separated by more than Nick, even by her family. I think they were separated personally...IMHO.

I too believe that they were separated. I think MB was scared from the get go that people would look at him as the prime suspect because their marriage was in trouble. I also think Kelli's family has no doubt in their mind that Mike didn't do this and that is why they are covering for him as far as their relationship status. Her family seems to really trust him.

10 minutes is plenty long enough for a crime of passion. Could quite easily tie a person up in that time.

Doesn't make me feel better at all. :banghead:

I agree nurse. However I do believe that Kelli had another male friend. The one that NH was talking about and I do not believe it was her husband.

Do you think it could be someone from work? Maybe someone Kelli felt she had something in common with?

I am not sure, but could NH have taken Kelli close to her apartment complex and made it back to the bar within 10 minutes?

The way I understand it, even at that time of night there is traffic and traffic lights.

Thanks!

I'm having flashbacks to Dr. Vass testimony now... wonder if NH's car has been searched and had a visit from the puppy doggies with the sensitive noses?

Well if that's the case they she has to be pretty darned close to the bar, unless he hid her body somewhere close then after closing time and he left the bar he took her somewhere else. I mean it could happen.

Would you ask Mr. nurse if it would be against the rules if the higher ranking person were married? I know OF someone who did get in trouble for that.

Thanks, and please know that I wasn't trying to be difficult!
Mister Nurse says you could get in trouble for that for sure (depends on what you were 'doing' but yes for sure he says you could get in trouble for that depending on behavior)

(mister nurse is playing the PS3 baseball right now and says to tell everyone hi)

When VOH comes back on line - ask him what the bar "regulars" think happened? What were they saying last Friday night. Did he hear talk of NH returning to the bar within 10 minutes of dropping off KH? IF he did, then why was he leaning towards NH 75% likely involved, 25% not? (Unless I misinterpreted his suspicions).

I'm pretty sure that VOH told us that his car was searched, but don't quote me on that.

The Bar owner wasnt there that night as reported by VOH. So whatever the bar owner know is hearsay. Now who is to say NICK and that pool guy ,couldnt be involved together. Or that he didnt use his 10 minutes to stick a tied up kelly in a van .

Kellie was not looked for for 2 days. If he was gone less then 10 minutes at the moment Kellie was last seen ,does not clear him in my mind. She could have been locked in his trunk or already murdered. He might not be the only person involved. Or he may not be involved at all but it isnt impossible based on the "he was only gone 10 minutes." He might not be as slow as people seem to think he is.

IIRC, NH's vehicle was searched. It was stated by NH himself on one of those interview tapes I cannot seem to find any longer. He stated that LE even scraped dirt from underneath the vehicle.

I searched for the video yesterday and it was not in the one I thought it was in. BUT, I do remember it! Someone else had said they could not find a part of a video they had seen either.

:moo:

Well, the word is that NH was back at the bar within 10 to 15 minutes after dropping off Kelli.

That doesn't leave much time for NH to have done anything other than what he claims. Are there any other locals posting here that could add "weight" to this rumor?

Sorry sundrop. I decided this must be rumor much too quickly. Others have posted links supporting your claim.

For what its worth i think that bar owner had hired Nick under the table.
To do odd jobs and clean up when push came to shove he says no he wasnt employed there...
Maybe we will find something out that can clear some of this sheet up.

Really should have only taken 3 minutes. It is only a mile.

Thanks, nurse! (Mr. nurse sounds like a great guy to me! Hello to him also from an old granny in Louisiana, and thank you for your service!)

If this is true, he could have easily kept her prisoner somewhere, let's say..an abandoned house instead of taking her to her apartment and then went back to the bar so he would have an alibi. Then gone back to the house to carry out his plans later. This could be why there was a tip that led police to the pond and could also be where they found some evidence. This would explain the last cell phone ping being near froggies.
