I agree, but this guy went on to say that the word around Duke is the accuser took money for sex that night and that there was no rape. Of course, this is all just rumor and hearsay. I was told this a while back and just find it interesting that information that may support these rumors is surfacing.Jeana (DP) said:Its possible for even a prostitute to be raped. However, if she had sex with up towards seven men in that 24-hour period, the problems with her past credibility, the exculpatory evidence for at least one of these defendants and the problems with the photographic line up, all may be more than the prosecution can overcome.
BrendaStar said:Good Lord, from what I have read the woman worked for an escort service called "Bunnyholes". She did private dances for men. From the document she had sex with at least four other men besides the "three" she mention. By the way, two of those men were her drivers. Unbelievable. How could Nifong take anything this woman said for gospel truth???????![]()

All of this is on the CTV message board about the Duke scandal.

Jeana (DP) said:The worst thing said in the case involving rape charges against Duke University students was not said by either the prosecutor or the defense attorneys, or even by any of the accusers or the accused. It was said by a student at North Carolina Central University, a black institution attended by the stripper who made rape charges against Duke lacrosse players.
According to Newsweek, the young man at NCCU said that he wanted to see the Duke students prosecuted, "whether it happened or not. It would be justice for things that happened in the past."
This is the ugly attitude that is casting a cloud over this whole case. More important, this collective guilt and collective revenge attitude has for years been poisoning race relations in this country.
It has torn apart other countries around the world, from the Balkans to Sri Lanka to Rwanda. Nor is there any reason to think that the United States is exempt from such polarization.
At one time, the black civil rights leadership aimed at putting an end to racism, and especially to the perversion of the law to convict people because of their race, regardless of guilt or innocence.
Today, this young man at NCCU represents the culmination of a new racist trend promoted by current black "leaders" to make group entitlements paramount, including seeking group revenge rather than individual justice in courts of law.
This attitude poisoned the O.J. Simpson case and it is now polarizing reactions to the Duke University case. Racial polarization is a dangerous game, especially dangerous for minorities in the long run.
Tragically, the way the Duke case is being handled, it looks as if District Attorney Michael Nifong is pandering to these ugly feelings.

>DURHAM -- A lawyer with the state NAACP said the civil rights organization intends to seek a gag order in the Duke lacrosse case, and a journalist who participated in a forum with him on Wednesday said media coverage of the alleged rape may deprive the alleged victim of her legal rights to a fair trial<
Just goes to show parents what a waste of money it is to send your kid to college for Journalism. If I were his parents I'd change my name out of embarrassment. Civics 101. It is the accused that have the right to a fair trial.
When they aren't making up the news and trying to brainwash people they are spending time making fools out of themselves. Yeah, there should be some people gagged allright but it isn't the defense.

While the dirt being thrown around by the alleged victim is certainly making us all question her story, the prosecution has remained quiet and is for all we know, keeping his cards close in hand. I think at this point it is extremely hard to separate the facts from fiction/hearsay while the defense is doing their best to discredit the dancer. However, I just have a really hard time buying that this case was only an opportunity for Nifong to garner the African American vote in Durham.

Men in power have jeopardized their careers and families for wealth and power for ages. Why should Nifong be any different? Politicians pander to certain voting blocks. This isn't the first time racial hatred has been riled up for political ends. Do you remember the Tawana Brawley case? Do you remember Sandy Berger stealing top secret documents from the National Archives? People had a hard time understanding that too. Why would a man risk his career to take a bribe? Hire a hooker? Have sex with his girlfriend in his office? People take risks like this all of the time because they either think they will get away with it or they believe what they will gain is worth the risk. I could probably give you a long list of more examples.
He's doing it because he thinks he can get away with it. Perhaps he didn't think this was going to turn into the brouhaha and national story like it did. He has done his investigation AFTER he had these boys arrested. Apparantly he feels pretty secure that he has a judge or two in his pocket.
He isn't holding back any trump cards. And I don't believe that the AV will ever show up in court. Perhaps Nifong will make sure she just slips away in the middle of the night and we never hear from her again. All he has to do is write her and her family a big fat check. His witness is gone and hey, what can he do? The case, unfortunately, cannot proceed but heck, he showed his black constituency that he will do anything to get their vote.
