NC vs. Raven Abaroa ~ the Trial 3

WRAL finally, sigh, posted a link to the live stream but it's still not up yet.

This is the first time I've seen them screw up a few times during the airing of this case. Usually they are my go to in a NC case. I don't think the State did a good job at all; I"m worried about the verdict and if they don't get it that no one else wanted Janet dead, all I can hope for is a hung jury and a do over with a better TEAM for the STATE. Because these two did an awful job, and that's my opinion.

In NC the State goes last in closing. At least in every NC trial I've ever watched or been a part of.

I've only seen it in insanity defenses. Never a reg 1st degree. Do you have the link to the law because it's so backwards. Well, then again it IS NC :) Grrrrr:scared: If you don't have a link to the code that's ok no worry. I honestly have never seen this in NC or any other state except insanity trials.

But usually the state goes first AND last. Do they only get one shot here?
Exactly my point, they have split up their closings each atty is giving it a go but that shouldn't change who is up to bat first and last....:scared:

I am not feeling real good about any of it either. If the Prosecution doesn't tie it all up in their closing, and stress MOTIVE, it may all be over. Motive is the key to the entire case since there is so little evidence of any kind.

I'll try to find a link. I am not a lawyer so I don't know exactly what the legal procedure is but I have only seen the defense close first, then the State.

Donna Jackson, Donna Jackson - is she the defense scape goat?
At least the jury saw Donna on the stand several times, and could tell how professional she was.

morning all :)

I'm praying for Janet........and hoping like h*ll things go well today!!

Marni obviously doesn't wear contacts - I leave my contact solution like that all the time. It's a pain to open/close the top every single time. And my case is always left open like that, too - it helps it dry out during the day.

She's going for the contacts? When they found them in her eyes??

Another assumption on her part--she is trying to sway the jury with assumptions. Not facts in evidence. I don't like this at all. Too much that has been said by this defense attorney is not factual. The law in NC states that opening and closing arguments do not have to be factual, but this is going well beyond the norm.
