I wonder where Zahra lived between 2000 - 2004 after the divorce of her parents. Also, I wonder if the Zahra's mother was even aware that her daughter had bone cancer and secondary lung cancer.

Newcastle in New South Wales I think.

I can't help but wonder if he was on drugs as well.

thoughts?

IMO I think so, but im guessing marijuana due to his weight. My daughter lived in Hickory years ago and people did it right in the open, I guess because its a dry state, no alcohol can be purchased there.

Does anyone think it's possible that Zahra might have somehow managed to "run away" from her parents?

I know, it's wishful thinking, and not likely, given her hearing aid devices were left at home.

no. I'm sorry to be so blunt but IMHO no.

If they only used blood sniffing dogs, it's definitely possible.

Cadaver dogs wouldn't hit on anything but the smell of human remains (cadaverine), though.

If someone had an accident with that wood chipper in the past their could easily be decomposing flesh for the dog to hit on which is what they are trained to detect. But they would not detect animal remains.

I wouldn't think they are ONLY using dogs that are solely trained for blood sniffing. It would be negligent on their part. My guess is that they've had 3-4 types of dogs out there. Trained for blood, trained for cadaver, trained for live, and one specifically to hunt Zhara's specific scent.

Not only that, VF, but why was he even logging onto MySpace when his girl was missing???

As much as it pains me to do so, I have to say in all fairness it might not have been him logging on...it could have been LE.

It's my impression she was the dominate partner in their relationship. Going by what her family and friends have stated in the media and on social networking sites, I have seen lots of comments about her anger/temper and not that much about Adam. Obviously I don't know but it seems to me this could be the case.
I don't know many men that would move their seriously ill (albeit in remission) child to a foreign country when there own has some of the best free medical facilities in the world. Remember he moved to America, she didn't move to Australia, must be a reason for that.

That may just make him irresponsible not brainwashed. I don't think he could be brainwashed before he came to the states maybe he was infatuated with this woman and came here for himself not caring about poor Zahra.

She lived with her father and his mom, Karen Baker in AU.

Everyone is seeming to state that bio mom has been totally uninvolved. There was one report that she was looking for Zhara for 5 years but that appears unrealistic as Zhara's cancer story was very public in AU.

So was she completely out of contact with her grandmother since moving to the U.S.? Would she not have heard from her in the last month, or has anything been said about that yet?

AB's myspace page* 10/10/2010 login shows his mood as "annoyed".

Um.

where's the tylenol? :banghead:

*the above is on the public, readily available part of the profile.

Did he change his mood that day to annoyed? Is that something you can tell?

IIRC, haven't used myspace in ages if you set your mood don't you have to go in and manually change it to another mood?

Just curious as to if he actually put that up as his current mood that particular day or if it had been up there for a bit and he just didn't pay it any mind? KWIM?

Just curious.

This was discussed several threads ago, you can log into myspace without changing your mood, mood could have been set that log in, three days before it, three months before it, it may also have been LE logging in to the account... wasn't necessarily AB logging in.

My husband asked me the same thing last night.

I live near Hickory now and have most of my life. I went to High School at Fred T Ford. Alcohol has been available in Hickory (and most of the rest of the state) for YEARS. And I have never seen pot being smoked "right out in the open".

One more:

Police also have confirmed they will be in Caldwell County later today, to conduct another search of at least one residence where Adam and Elisa Baker lived with Zahra. The Bakers had multiple residences in Caldwell County before moving to Hickory, from where Zahra was reported missing Saturday by her father.

So I'm thinking the search is still on...lol. At least until the next article comes out................

Here is another update re:current search

Burke County sheriff’s deputies are searching a wooded area off of Hartland Road in connection with the Zahra Baker disappearance for the third time in as many days.

Thursday’s search is being conducted at the request of the Burke County Sheriff. He says he wants to be able to definitively rule out that area as being Zahra’s location.

Hickory police haven’t said if they’re actively searching another area right now, but do say they are following a number of leads and tips and that information is taking them in a number of places.

Huh? that is totally not true.
