Probably because he's got better judgement than most of the rest of that extended family. Just because he's saying "no comment" to the media doesn't mean he hasn't told police exactly when, where, and in what condition he last saw her. Under the circumstances, it's the right thing to do, to tell police and then leave it to them to share as much or as little about what they know and how they know it as they think is in the best interests of the investigation.

Your explanation is better than mine...

Any live feed with the chopper available? TIA

I did find that kind of odd, the rest of the family is throwing EB under the bus and he's not saying anything "until all the evidence is in" could it be he's trying not to implicate himself? :footinmouth:

I thought he lived with his father after the split. That must have been many years ago. He likely doesn't have much contact with EB if any at all.

Drugs and lies. Lies and drugs. I'm tired of that.

I think this is a base of bad wording on the part of a reporter. There have been no other indications that any blood or remains were found and police have since said the scent the dogs hit on were "false leads".

I think the glove with the "red goo" is what made it switch to a homicide. Because NOTHING more has been said about it.

Do you have a link regarding the "red goo", Bellyup, I haven't read anything about that.

ETA: Sorry, just found the link. So, police were called when the glove was found???

Charles Rotenberry, a friend of the family, called police after finding a glove in the bushes near the Baker’s backyard.

“It had a bad smell to it and there was just red goo all in it,” he says.

The search warrant says that some blood was recovered.

Oh great, according to Brittany Bentley, she bought drugs from Elisa. I think there is a LOT of back-paddling going on here after they first stated they called DCF.

Obviously these two will not be called in as witnesses to anything.

Isn't this the son that lived with his father and said he only met Zahra once...maybe he just really does not know anything.

you could be right... i can't keep up with where and with who all the extended family memebers live. :waitasec:

Not only that, VF, but why was he even logging onto MySpace when his girl was missing???

The 10th was on Sunday...so SM had just been arrested. I can only imagine that perhaps he keeps in touch with his Aussie friends and family through the account??

They both claim on this radio show that Elisa was a DRUG DEALER!!!! :furious:

Wonder if Britt bought her drugs from Elisa? Just curious?

Also, an expert here says the North Carolina Statute does not impose any criminal or civil sanctions if you don't report child abuse.

I think that depends who you are. A parent/guardian, health care professional, or school teacher/official would be subject to a mandatory reporting requirement (though a battered parent/guardian wouldn't normally be charged for failure to report, if they were being abused by the same person). And I don't think most states (if any) impose legal sanctions on anyone else who just happens to know about the abuse and doesn't report it.

Well you can bet that's what the "money" issue was about when she was run off the road and threatened. Did she mention what kind of drugs?

Can anyone say what type of soil is in the area? Clay, loam, sandy, etc? And how hard it would be to dig? The soil under the chip/wood pile would be like butter if that pile has been there a long time. Like nice compost. It looks black from the vid. But I was wondering in general, the soil in the area. Thx.

Actually I don't recall Brittany mentioning what kind of drugs she bought. I was in shock when I heard no one called DCF. You could be right about the fact that Brittany was run off the road and threatened because of drug. :banghead:

Me thinks that DCS and LE have finally gotten together and compared notes and all those "reportings" we've heard about didn't exactly happen - that's why LE now wants all the footage of interviews. Also, the interview where its admitted that EB was a dealer.

What this all has to do with Zahra I don't know. I agree with Patty - dad needs to be polygraphed and it needs to be done like yesterday. They can't poly EB as she is already under arrest and I highly doubt her or her attny would allow it. But dad, he's free and can consent. Wonder if they have asked?

Thankyou! I see very careful work by the lift operator.
He was just lifting large wood for the dog to sniff.
Looks like in video that the dog hit in a precise area and they began to carefully lift soil.
I have seen this done myself where the operater can get an inch away with his bucket from a target area and never disturb things.

Very good video.

Most cadaver dogs are trained with a passive sit or an active scratch. Some are trained to bark. It looked as if the dog hit on something.
