I really think Kaine would have accomplished more if he had held off with the divorce and the RO, because alienating a spouse and taking away their child is NOT the way to get them to talk. I think he hurt their chances of getting her to tell anything she knows. Terri has been backed into a corner now and she can't come out fighting, because that would make her look even worse. She really has no choice but to keep her silence and wait until they charge her with something.
And it is not always true that innocent people have nothing to fear. Many people have been convicted of crimes they did not commit. It appears that LE does not know what happened to Kyron so what are they going to charge her with? No evidence of murder.
I appreciate Dateline for trying to present a fair and balanced report, it's important for people who follow these cases to see both sides. If this case was brought to trial now, and I were on the jury, I could not convict her based on what I know.
Kaine and Desiree believe Kyron is alive, maybe they think Terri handed him off to someone else and that is a strong possibility. I hope for everyone's sake that is true.
Coddling her wouldn't bring any answers either. Kaine did the only thing he could do under the circumstances; that was protecting his own life, and the life of his remaining child.
