There is no way those two will talk to LE. They haven't except to give clues on other possibilities since the first week of Susan's missing. She went missing on the 7th and he lawyered up the 13th. IMO, they will have to gather info...as they have been doing since and find Susan before arrest can be made. Then you have the problem of definitively connecting him to the evidence found for a conviction. After nearly two years, unless she was miraculously preserved in some way, it will be very hard to glean anything unless the bones can tell it...or a weapon found with her. IMO
It depends on how much evidence they have. That could change the complexion of how an interrogation plays out. If Steven, for example, wrote something in his journal about Topaz Mntn, that would be pretty incriminating if these remains are Susan. He then is facing jail time for obstruction of justice. Perhaps he could be offered immunity for confessing everything he knows. While he would deny involvement in the initial plot, it could then prompt JP to confess and share in how they both conspired in it if that did indeed happen. There certainly appears to be reason to suspect his dad's involvement.
MOO.
ETA: Changed my mind about offering immunity. The more I read, the more I suspect his direct involvement in bringing their marriage to the brink of divorce, and then telling JP to murder her. Still putting a working hypothesis together but that appears to be a possibility. MOO. (I will take this to the other thread on Steven Powell once ready to post about it.)
