Oh no how tragic :( I was really hoping this would not end this way.

RIP, Brian. So sorry to his family, co-workers and friends.

Right there with you. However, unless Brian has a known mental health history, it would be highly unusual to manifest suddenly at his age.
Some people are good at hiding stuff for an extended period of time. Teleka obvious did it exceptionally well for numerous years. May Brian G. RIP.

Colleagues Mourn Union County School Employee Brian Gooney

April 4
Colleagues and relatives are mourning Brian Gooney, 55, a Union County school employee whose body was found on the bank of the Rahway River on Saturday.

"It was a pleasure to have worked with Brian, such a sweet and helpful man," wrote a colleague. "Rest In Peace my friend."

Gooney's sister-in-law posted, "This is an extremely difficult post to write. I wanted to post this on behalf of our family to let you know that Brian has been found. He is peacefully at home with his parents in heaven. We take comfort in the fact that tomorrow is Easter and we can rest knowing where he is. We would like to thank everyone for the calls, texts and prayers. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we are all so heartbroken."

Police stated his body was found along the river near Essex Street. Essex Street is across the water from Main Street, where he lived.

The Union County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death. Police have not stated whether his death is suspicious

Oh, I'm so sad about this. I noticed yesterday that a relative's Twitter post (a general "please help us find him") had been removed, and I was so hopeful than Brian was safe. Something about this guy just struck me. I recall that he worked with children with special needs/children on autism spectrum and I hope those children are being supported. Devastated by this.

Heartbreaking not only for his family, but also for his "kids" and co-workers at school. :(

Oh no. RIP.
After I went through that “troll” Twitter, I started to get uneasy. I’m sure his family will be able to narrow it down though, there’s a few posts about specifically being a jilted ex gf/date. And no matter what Brian’s true motives were if this is in fact a suicide, this person needs to be exposed for that kind of targeted defamation & hate.
