Scared for herself and her son, Yasemin Uyar was on the move again.

On Wednesday, the 24-year-old mother was packing up her apartment in Rahway and making arrangements to move later in the week, for what may have been the sixth time, said her mother KU. The restraining order Yasemin Uyar had gotten more than a year ago against her son’s father, Tyler Rios, did not keep him from staying away, KU said.

But she said she became concerned on Friday when the Highland Park Police Department left a voicemail for KU’s other daughter, Marissa, alerting her that Yasemin had been assaulted. When an officer went to her home in Rahway, Yasemin and her son were not there. Her car, a silver late-model Ford Fiesta, was also gone, Karen Uyar said.

Baby has been located, mom has not. Not feeling hopeful about the outcome, but sure would love to be wrong.

It pains me to even type this but per the article in @cass523 post "They said Rios made comments to family members that he killed the child’s mother and she was in the trunk of the vehicle" and I've read rumors only that BF was found with a different car, MOO JMO is that she is probably still with her car. I do so hope that I am wrong.

There is a vigil for Yasemin today at 4:30




I can't find more details because I'm really lost when searching court records, but anyone here that is good can look up his 2019 incarceration for assault and unlawful imprisonment (this booking info doesn't show the sentence - it would be interesting to know when he was released - recently?):

As a mom, this breaks my heart in a different way. You know she had to be terrified realizing he was taking them, knowing already what he's capable of. I hope she's okay somehow.

Her car was a 2018 and it looks like in 2019 Ford Fiesta's started having GPS in the navigation system. Only one year off, sigh.

@PommyMommy , I'm really thinking there needs to be changes on restraining orders. If they're determined they will easily ignore them. I don't feel a good outcome for this poor woman who apparently has moved 6 times. The feeling of such fear breaks my heart. IMO

100% agree. I'm sick and tired of seeing violent men treat women like their playthings with such utter disregard for the safety of ANYONE involved. Restraining orders need to be enforced much further than just simply being served.

The only way to keep people with restraining orders away from the people that they terrorize would be to put them in prison or to have a police officer follow them everywhere they go.
RO’s are useful in charging the violators when they are caught in the act by LE or on video.
No court order can keep an evil person from doing evil things because most bad people don’t care what the court says.
