NJ - Mystery drones seen nightly

The military can't shoot them down without them being a direct immediate threat or without orders from the President. But it is ridiculous that they, DHS and the FAA can't identify them. This is a bit similar to the Chinese spy balloon fiasco a couple years ago. The military just sitting there. I actually find it hard to believe that the military doesn't know what these are, they just aren't saying.
I also can’t believe that this issue wasn’t addressed after the issue with the Chinese spy balloon - which, IMO you are spot-on linking together). They should have anticipated that something like that could/would happen again and a response protocol should have been created. If this had been done - AND IT SHOULD HAVE!! - we wouldn’t be here and now scratching our heads trying to figure what should be done, when, who authorizes action, etc

Sorry (sort-of) if I sound a little frustrated, angry, etc but I LIVE here. I personally have not seen anything (but I also haven’t been looking) but I know (and believe) what I am hearing from people I know personally. Also, my daughter has a farm with 12+ horses in Evesham and security video (I think) from a night within the last week or two showed “drone-like” activity over the pastures and the horses reacting to the activity. Some horses didn’t seem to notice, others stopped grazing and stared skyward and a few actually panicked and started running around. Fortunately none of them got hurt!

My personal opinion? SHOOT ONE OR MORE DOWN!! Do so over as open of land as possible in order to reduce the risk of injury/death to life (human, animal, etc) as well as property damage. Then it can be investigated - by government AND independent specialists. Why do we continue to sit here and wait while potentially sensitive information could be being collected by God knows who and why? And why do we believe a Governor who says they (the drones) pose NO RISK TO THE PUBLIC?

IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE, WHO SENT/IS CONTROLLING THEM AND WHY - THEN HOW & WHY SHOULD/WOULD WE BELIEVE YOU THAT THERE IS NO RISK?!!

I am in New Mexico.

Over the last weekend, my daughter and I were driving just after 10PM.

We saw an object, that to me, looked like a flying Christmas tree. At that moment, I found it amusing.

I tried to explain this object to another family member, to whoms reaction was an eye roll. It made me question what my own memory may have been.

Well, the night before last, someone interviewed on the news spoke about seeing something that resembled a flying Christmas tree.

I believe that was in New Jersey.

What the heck????
This sounds very similar to what we saw.. It was definitely a Triangle and had a set of lights underneath it that were blinking.. Or at least the lights were a triangular shape, and they were multiple colors. blinking rapidly, then slowly. It was just really strange.

They're not from a foreign entity. The Feds would've shot one down by now. They know exactly what they are, and it's not far-fetched to assume that belong to the Feds themselves. A few drones flying over our heads is actually no more intrusive than the 2+ decades of domestic surveillance that Ed Snowden exposed, and every bit as pointless. If nothing else, this serves as a convenient distraction, like those Chinese weather ("spy") balloons.

My wife thought she saw one the other day; "Honey - that's a jet."

I 100% feel the same way!

"While no direct threats to the installation have been identified, we can confirm multiple instances of unidentified drones entering the airspace above Naval Weapons Station Earle," Bill Addison, public affairs officer for the naval station, said in a statement to ABC News.

Drones are the new clowns craze, IMO
Anyways, stay safe, guys
Sorry, but I deeply disagree, especially with the article I just posted. The public affairs officer for Naval Weapons Station Earle just issued a statement saying that there are drones entering their airspace.

Here is a tweet from the Homeland Security

During the investigation there’s is no proof they are foreign.
How longs it been 4 weeks? And it’s ok to say that because he also said they don’t know where they came from at all.

I don’t know what color the object is.
I have absolutely no proof that the color of the object is green.

They (the military, gov't., etc) must know if it's domestic, though, right ?
Why not just say so ?

"The first drone sightings appeared over the US Army's Picatinny Arsenal .... on November 18.
But reports of varying levels of credibility have now spread to at least 12 counties throughout the Garden State, as well as
eastern Pennsylvania and Orange County, New York...
The FBI and other agencies are investigating, but the Department of Homeland Security said Wednesday: 'We have no more information as to where these drones are coming from, where they're launching from, where they're landing.' "

Re. the bolded, are there military installations at the PA and NY locations ?
Asking for a friend.
Well not really.
Some fairly decent video and photos at the link.

They are caught up in government-speak. They talk a lot without saying anything. We got this same run around with the Chinese balloons. If the Pentagon is saying it is not foreign, then they MUST know where they come from and just aren't saying.

Thanks for the link , @HungryBrain !

Of all of the people in the know, I'd expect Mayorkas to have been advised as to where they're coming from ?
He does mention, "mistaken identity..." so maybe it's just that, and nothing else ?
People are going to wonder, though.

IMO - they know they are domestic. They are testing new tech capabilities and do not want their abilities to ‘leak’.

Drones are being used both in the Ukraine-Russia and the Palestine-Israel wars. They are the future of warfare, and we likely want to get the jump on anyone else. *if* they are payload capable, it would be quite a big payload, since they’re being reported as car sized. IMO MOO

Yea they have to. You can turn a $16 wireless network usb card into a device that monitors network traffic in like 5 minutes and I know you can do things like that for cellphones too.
I’m sure you could attach all types of information gathering tech on a drone the size of an suv as everyone keeps saying.

eastern Pennsylvania and Orange County, New York...

East Pennsylvania has Fort Indiantown (Harrisburg). OC NY has Stewart Air National Guard base. They’re both National Guard bases - Fort Indiantown is primarily a training center.
