When I muted my computer and laid down for my nap Serna was talking about case law regarding Bright or something that sounds like Bright. When I just came back, he was still talking about Bright. Have they had lunch yet, anybody know???

Yep, lunch is over. Sigh. Poor jurors.

If the PT gets to respond I can't see how there will be time to get the jury in there for any testimony, Serna still sounds like he could go on for hours. I wish the judge could cut him short.

ok in all seriousness you guys, I am a bit worried. IF Slama's and Farrelly's testimonies are stricken from the record, the prosecution's theory does go to the cr@pper. Does this mean mistrial is possible?

Well, PT doesn't have to prove motive so I don't think their case goes out the window. Maybe in the real world it gets wings though.

Feed back.

Hi NCEast! Yes, they broke for lunch and just came back about 15 minutes ago and he started right where he left off, although it sounds very repetitious now :(
Plus, the feed has gone out a couple of times, too.

Slama got a payment plan, not favorable treatment. 'Who knows what else there might be'? Goodness, sit down and let the PT say something, please.

I am so worried right now for Tera getting Justice.

My heart goes out to the victim's family listening to defense arguing for a mistrial coupled with double jeopardy attached. I can just imagine they are sinking hearing all this garbage.

JMHO

Every time Serna gets on his high horse, everything sounds repetitious doesn't it. I will have horrible feelings toward this man for a long time after this trial is over.

I'm so confused by this trial, I don't know what to think.
I haven't followed too closely today although I read some of the posts on here. When I brought up the trial feed I wondered who that young man was on the stand and I was very surprised to find it was McKay the prosecutor! The prosecutor!! What is THAT about? I've never seen or heard about a trial as wacky as this one has been so far!

Gosh, isn't it the truth. I've never seen anything like the prosecutor having to testify either. It was about discovery. Serna was drilling McKay about not turning over all of the discovery which has led to where we are now--Scerna talking about a mistrial, etc. due to his saying he didn't get everything the state had. Serna is/was trying to have Salma's testimony stricken and another person's Ferrally (I came in late) too.

This is really scary IMHO it sounds like Serna has a good point.

Is that judge napping with his eyes open listening to the endless, mindless drone of serna? I sincerely dislike that man.

  • #1,035
So, "in a nutshell". Dude, after five hours of ranting, it's got to be the mother of all nutshells.

Well hopefully Serna is just going on and on and on because he knows Slama's testimony contradicts Chavez's alibi for that day.
I know Serna thinks there is something "wrong" with the evidence the attorney for the civil trial received - maybe only in Serna'a mind, I don't know for sure - so Serna is making a huge deal out of a 'maybe'....??
If Serna thinks he would have asked Slama different questions, recall her!
I still don't get the connection between the civil trial attorney's findings about the stolen truck and why Serna thinks McKay should have told him about some kind of evidence. Seems like a wasted day of listening to ancient case law that probably has no bearing on this trial. Just my two cents...really probably 47 cents! :twocents:

Why is the judge allowing him to jump up in the middle of the PT's time? Goodness.
