Bobbs said Victoria's killing is an example for New Mexico state officials that they must to do more to prevent what has turned into a horrific string of children killed by relatives or people close to them in recent years.

"This family shouldn't be standing behind me grieving," Bobbs said. "Let's put our children first. They are our future."

Martens told detectives that Gonzales injected her daughter with methamphetamine to calm her down before he raped her. Victoria was stabbed and choked before her dismemberment.

Bobbs and the grandparents saw Martens daily but did not know she was going out with Gonzales and never saw signs that she might be using drugs or have them around her.

Neighbors described Victoria as a happy and outgoing child and Bobbs said she always appeared to be well cared for by her mother. Martens worked at a grocery store near the apartment complex with a community pool where the girl was often seen swimming.

I guess he is in for a rude awakening, as reports say she might had been looking for men to assault Victoria and possibly her sibling. Her bond amount was raised.

Agreed. Iirc, he has now gotten an order of protection to keep all three of the monsters away from his son.

I don't think he knew either (so it doesn't look like his son told him what was potentially going on?). A lot of posters here even though that the mother was just mixed up with these bad people, and was in shock when the attack was carried out. But new information came out and it would appear the mother was actually the ring leader and was actively soliciting men to assault her daughter and even possibly the sibling.

I haven't seen anything reported about Victoria's father (not even who he is).

Oh, I totally agree with you. I wish we knew for sure. I feel like it will come out eventually, but it isn't clear at the moment. It does appear that the mother was the ringleader. From the local news yesterday, her bond is set much higher than the other two, $1.5 mil vs. $1 for both of them (cash only for all three).

Strictly a guess on my part, but martens is Michelle's maiden name, so I wonder if the father was ever involved?

I saw the higher bond. That's a very good thing. I wonder if she (they) are in ad seg for their own protection? Which sucks, yes. I want them in general population. I also read an article last night listing who their attorneys are and each attorney's experience. Can you imagine defending someone like these three? God...😠

According to a search warrant affidavit, Martens told Albuquerque police she had allowed other men to sexually assault her daughter and said she had sought out the men online and at work.

She told police she had set up encounters with at least three. Gonzales told police he met Martens about a month prior to the killing on an online dating website. Police are continuing to pursue leads about the other men.

So far, the charges pertain solely to Victoria Martens’ slaying.

One of the CYFD interviews took place in May 2016, this would have been before FG met MM. I wish we knew when the other interview took place. Victoria had just started back to school when she was murdered correct?

I'm happy to know that all of the electronic devices mentioned in the SW Return, are being examined. Hopefully we are going to see more arrests made. It must be like a rabbit hole for LE. Investigating one of those deviants, likely leads to a network of many more. Like one poster said, it's scary to know they live and work among us, and we have no idea what they really are.

Mentioned in one of the warrants; while conducting an interview with MM, an officer asked her if she was soliciting/communicating with men on the internet. She answered yeah. I think this opens the door to bring in the Feds, who can conduct their own investigation and bring separate Federal charges?

I can't imagine. I did see that one of the attorneys was able to keep Omaree Varela's stepfather from being convicted of the most serious crime he was charged with, so I shudder to think what might happen here. I really hope there will be justice for Victoria.

Yes, it was before FG met MM but from what has been reported, MM found at least two other guys to assault her daughter before FG.
