I usually don't follow children's case too closely for this very reason. This...this right here enrages me and totally breaks my heart. WHAT is happening to people? How could two mothers be here when this is happening to this beautiful baby and stand by and do nothing? I think there is one more person that needs to be in jail.

Who leaves a THREE YEAR OLD in a corner for 4 hours? Like, you come to a time, as a normal person, when you realize that you're being ridiculous. Knowing his past, I am not understanding how in the world she would EVER get involved with him, having kids and all. Good grief.

He had planned to visit near his birthday Sept. 20th.

How unfortunate. Dad probably didn't think those texts meant that the adults in the house were abusing Daniel, otherwise I'm sure he would have called CPS, LE or arranged to travel to Las Vegas earlier.

The lesson here is that we do have to take such statements seriously. When a mother says she "lost it" on her child and she "can't do this anymore" then it's time for an intervention. Especially when her boyfriend also "loses it" on the child, which is even more ominous. MOO.

3 year olds test boundaries. they need routine and stability and made to feel secure. im sure smoking meth all day doesn't provide that to a child and they would act out.

There's mom using the phrase "lost it" again. What she really means is she and Oxford battered an innocent little boy because of perceived attitude and respect issues. I say perceived because who the hell expects a 3-year-old to have a "good" and "respectful" attitude, especially during every waking minute?

I call BS. IMO both were looking for reasons to punish Daniel. He could have been the most well-behaved toddler in history and they would have found something else to abuse him for. I'm sure Oxford was enraged that some other guy's kids needed attention from their mother - attention time that he wouldn't have.

And mom... IMO she did her fair share of abuse too and I don't mean just standing idly by and watching her boyfriend beat her kids. Remember, in the text linked earlier she said they both "lost it." She did her best to put it all off onto her boyfriend but IMO she participated. She can lie all she wants but she's gonna go to jail.

And what is wrong with Oxford's mother? She hasn't been charged so all I'll say right now is that she damn well saw the marks and bruises on both boys.

After the incident with Oxford, Evans let Daniel lay down and go to sleep. Daniel was sleeping when Smith and Oxford returned home, the arrest report said.

The punishment for child abuse and/or murder is far too lenient ; imo.
The death penalty --- and it should be carried out in less than a year.
Maybe people would stop doing this if they knew what the consequences could be.
Just the fact that Elizabeth Smart's abductor is to be released is nauseating.

Sadly, I'm afraid that people like those in this case (and others that we see here) aren't capable of thinking far enough into the future about consequences and "get" that they could face the DP. IMO they act on their rage. If they thought like you, me or others who wouldn't harm a child in the first place then they too would rein in their urges and instead act appropriately.

Also, in recent times it seems we're seeing more and more cases where prosecutors are taking the DP off the table, either to expedite the trial or cut a plea deal. I'm afraid it's become too expensive for most communities to pay for the extra defense counsel required and the numerous appeals after. MOO.

Sure, whatever. Luckily LE saw signs of abuse on the other boy. I guess Ms. Evans needs new glasses. Seriously, she did witness her son hitting Daniel, she witnessed her son get angry that she let the boy lie down, so how could she not even consider that abuse? SMH.

I'm following the first trial in Gabby Barret's death and boy, Daniel's mother and her boyfriend are so similar. In both cases IMO they were all looking for reasons to punish the child, even if they had to dream up reasons. In both cases they were unreasonable in their expectations and over the top with their punishments. And in both cases they scaleded the child.

In Gabby's case I believe mom and her boyfriend got sick enjoyment for the pain they caused her and I wonder if there isn't something similar going on here. IMO only a sadist or psychopath could carry punishments this far without ever thinking about the pain the child experienced. IOW sickos. MOO.
