Will be interesting to see what they have at preliminary hearing.

I will just say that Naomi's family are far better and people than I am. Her brother again expressed concern for TD's safety. Frankly, were it someone I loved, and he was sitting in jail not saying a word, I would be wishing him to well, I will not say, but you can probably guess. JMO
I seen it as them trying to reach out to him. He will watch it and they know this.

Naomi's family is once again stressing that Troy Driver remain in a safe situation. They believe he has the answers to where she is. They don't want him to be harmed -- or to harm himself.

I don’t know whether to feel better or worse about any of this. I guess worse in that it’s possible he’ll bond out. Better in that there’s perhaps a sliver of hope here that if Naomi was handed off to someone it’s possible she’s still with us. JSS IMO

Yes, I agree, but he will probably just derive some sick pleasure out of it. JMO

Maybe a stupid question here… how does a Judge make a decision on bond when not given any information of what evidence there is? Also, no mention of criminal history. Is this done behind closed doors? TIA

It is usually done in open court. I'm not sure exactly how this particular court or judge works.

JMO that they were maybe worried they might say something in an emotional state that would compromise their case perhaps?

Dear @MachinaCollecta,

Absolutely agree!

I admire the family's strength and composure - being in the same room as the person who has been charged with kidnapping their loved one. That is unfathomable!

They knew that T.D. is the only person who could tell them where Naomi is and I don't know how they found the strength, from, as you say " not wanting to compromise their case" and their great love and concern for Naomi's whereabouts.

That would have taken enormous strength to hold back.

Not making a statement showed their strength as well.

My heart is with this beautiful family.

May they be surrounded by love and comfort and may they get answers soon.

This reminds me of something I thought of last night while driving in the dark and parking.

When you are driving, you have two important deterrents at your disposal right away while seated in the driver's seat. ( well, three, really)

1. HORN

2. Hazard lights

3. Accelerator

No guarantee Naomi would have been able to stop him, but putting up any kind of resistance is important and the louder, the splashier, the more attention-grabbing the better.
4. The 9mm in my purse.

So beautifully and eloquently stated, zencompass.

In one of Tamara's interviews, she stated that her and Naomi's brother, CV, wants to change the course of his career. He wants to help make sure something like this horrendous kidnapping doesn't happen to another family. It's the same with the Gabby Patino family. Deja Vu.

Don't have the link handy so JMHOO

I can't imagine the strength it is taking them. I'm sure it's ONLY due to the fact that they are hoping he will eventually talk. He is their only "known" hope at this point.
Based on a previous interview with Diana, she was talking about how they will unleash all the powers and LE IF the kidnapper doesn't cooperate, I have no doubt they are only publicly maintaining this standpoint in the hopes of finding Naomi.

No body, no evidence of what ever may have happened to her. Defense can make up whatever story they want...this guy will never talk.

  • #255
I know I’m probably wrong on this but if there isn’t enough evidence to prove murder, maybe they do have some indication that she’s still alive and they’re hoping that he might find a way to keep her that way, if he’s out.
Hope springs eternal!

He is a private attorney who they contract with for public defender services--that is what the website says. There is no way that guy qualifies for a PD.

Many times a public defender is appointed for arraignment/bail hearing then a private atty is hired.

I get the impression that she was just frozen in fear, terrified. As much as we wish she’d been able to fling the passenger side door open and run for her life it’s probably easier said than done when you’re in a moment like that.
I believe I read that her brother said in the video he saw she was shaking. I truly believe that she was being tased. I think as soon as she opened the door he tased her. I think for the shaking to be so severe that it could be seen in the video that it was more than just shaking from being scared. JMO

The only thing that would go against that perhaps is that Casey said TD said or did something to make her move into the passenger’s seat. Would this have even been possible if she’d been tased and briefly out of control of her body?
