I knew I had seen someone comment on this earlier. Sorry I didn't quote you, sonjay.

What strikes me as particularly odd is the statement in that article that says this:

Meyers and her daughter drove home and sometime later, the suspect’s vehicle showed up, multiple shots were fired, and Meyers was struck in the head by one round.

BBM. Sometime later the other vehicle showed up? So they didn't actually follow her home? Does that mean they already knew where she lived?

What doesn't make sense to me is how they found the car again. After going home and going back out - how the heck did they track down the car? There are so many streets around there that lead into major streets and shopping areas. Very odd
Silver/grey sedans are very easy to find....especially at night and there are so few of them around, you know?

;)

Agree, very odd indeed.

Something really does not make sense here. What I get from the various stories: Mother gives daughter a driving lesson a middle school. Mother is driving home. Daughter reaches over and honks at another car. Other car stops in front of mom and daughter and yells at them. Mother and daughter drive home.

At this point, everything seems okay.

Questions:

If you didn't know the people in the other vehicle, why would you expect that you'd be able to find them? They could be miles away; their car could be parked in their garage.

Why would you want to find them?

If you were afraid of these guys, why wouldn't you just barricade yourself in your house, and alert the police to the situation? And if you were afraid of these guys, why would you leave your daughter at home alone?

It doesn't make much sense to me either. At that point, it was just a verbal confrontation that was over. Why did they get a gun and go look for the guy? What were they hoping to accomplish? Unless the sedan driver lives in the area (in which case, why hasn't police found him yet), how did they hope to find him?

Everybody posting on this thread has made excellent points, IMO, many that hadn't occurred to me. Thanks for pointing them out. This story has made me a little crazy since it happened.

Anxious to hear how the vigil went off.

They didn't. From what I understand, they gave up on finding it and decided to return home. When they did get home, they notice the car had been waiting for them in front of their house and this is when shots were fired.

So I am guessing the initial car did follow them home, but only moved in a visible position later.

No, per what is being reported, they found the other car.

"Meyers and her son left the cul-de-sac and found the other car. The driver followed them to their home. Steiber said shots were exchanged in front of the Meyers’ house. When the shooting ended, Meyers’ son saw his mom lying on the ground, a gunshot to her head."

interesting comments from LE - but very professional and respectful - MOO
''"Unfortunately, I can't ask Tammy what was in her mind at the time of her actions. What I can say is this, that at this point in time, Tammy is a victim, okay? This family right now is in mourning. They are very distraught over what has occurred. It's our job and it's our obligation as a community and a law enforcement organization to ensure that everyone is safe regardless of what our personal opinions are on certain people's actions," said Metro Lt. Ray Steiber''

Tammy is the victim because she lost the gun fight? Son came out of the house with his gun blazing. No regard to the neighbors that might have been hit in the crossfire when Tammy and her son had a gunfight in their neighborhood. IMO, LE was trying to calm down the community with his statement. ''Tammy Meyers' actions were criticized on social media Tuesday, but her family defended her, and Brandon Meyers is convinced he did the right thing.

“I did what I had to do to protect my family. Everyone can think what they have to think. I did it for a reason, and I'd do it for anyone I love,” Brandon Meyers said.

“She was protecting me. That's all she was doing. She was protecting me and Brandon, my brother. Brandon is my hero, because if it wasn't for him, it could have been me, too,” said Tammy Meyers' 15-year-old daughter, Kristal Meyers.''

"Tammy Meyers' husband, Robert Meyers, defended his wife's and son's actions as well. He said mistakes might have been made, but his wife didn't deserve to die.

“People are panicked, things happen, and [the right things are not always done]. Emotions get ahead of what you should do. I think [it] might be a case of that,” Robert Meyers said."

Are we absolutely sure a member of her family didn't shoot her?

Also: I knew I could count on you guys to catch the hinkey meter right away. I thought something was weird when she was giving her kid a driving lesson at night in Las Vegas (I don't even want to drive at night in Las Vegas) but there was oh, so much more wrong than that.

Two things on my mind right now - I hope that they do find the occupants/driver/alleged gunman of other car because:

(a) witness accounts of what happened and IF there are THREE people that will be THREE accounts of what happened

(b) IF there was another handgun involved - perfect - let's do forensic analysis of that gun to see if it was that bullet that killed the mother or was it a bullet from the son's gun**

MOO

**but then again maybe son has more than one gun??
