Thanks for the link. Given their backgrounds in the Intelligence field, I'm interested in hearing their views on ML's communications.

I don't believe he did. Watching part of it again. He didn't know whether to take the email seriously when he received it. Went to the FBI after ML was identified. In his email, ML said he was going to Mexico and that he was being followed by the FBI.dbm
Yes, the person who received the email from ML reported it to authorities when he received it. I wonder how - or if - the FBI followed up on it and when.
I think ML's email is interesting, but I'm ignoring the commentary about it etc.etc.. Law enforcement seems to be pretty certain that it is an email from ML. So, the email is relevant. The rest is "talk" to me.IMO, Shawn Ryan is hardly an unbiased source. The bit about going into hiding with his family stinks of conspiracy theory to me. Many of his past Insta posts and podcasts reinforce that thought.
MOO
ETA: Not a good look for him, with his CV, to not have contacted the authorities immediately after reading that email, instead of after the guy's name came out and his obvious reluctance ("I had no choice") to surrender it to them.
It seems like he took the part about war crimes and drones seriously enough to broadcast, and yet, didn't report the potential for violence to the "feds" because he didn't trust their "agenda." It's scary to me how many military seem to be working at cross-purposes with the appropriate authorities in our government. It's not up to some former intelligence agent to decide for himself what to do about public safety or national security issues.I don't believe he did. Watching part of it again. Please tell me this Podcaster immediately shared this info with some sort of Law Authority. If it is accurate, and he received the message the day before of someone stating they are driving around with a VBIED I feel he had a responsibility to report said email immediately.
Excerpt:
"I've been followed for over a week now from likely homeland or FBI, and they are looking to move on me and are unlikely going to let me cross into Mexico, but won't because they know I am armed and I have a massive VBIED. I've been trying to maintain a very visible profile and have kept my phone and they are definitely digitally tracking me.
ETA: Shoemate said the individual initially reached out to him via Instagram direct message and first emailed him on Sunday, three days before the explosion.

No excuses IMO
If someone receives any type of message that an individual is driving around with a bomb you don’t sit on that. I bet this Podcaster would feel even worse had other lives been taken in this stunt/incident.
It's my understanding that the initial communications were not about anything specific. He said he (ML) had info he wanted to share with the podcast host (scratch this.. he shared it with a third party with a popular instagram page and he indicated he wanted it shared with the podcast host). Then the 3rd party gave ML an email address to use to send anything he wanted to share with him. That communication happened 3 days before, but he had no info shared with him at that time.. nothing to send to the FBI.. he didn't even know what info the guy had to share and this host gets lots of people sending him info about military things. ML didn't send that email, which detailed him having the bomb and being followed and so on until Tuesday the 31st. The guy never stated if he even saw it/opened it BEFORE the incident on Wednesday morning. He stated he did share it with the FBI. Then he reached out to the podcast host and they did the show talking about what transpired.(Not directed at you as poster bestill)
No excuses IMO

It is a messaging app that is often used by military because the messaging is secure. It is how I communicate with my spouse and son when they are overseas. I don't know a lot about tech stuff, but I believe encrypted is what this is.. maybe on both ends.. something like that. lol I know it is highly suggested to be used for servicemembers because it's hard to hack or whatever. Keeps servicemembers safer.what is a 'signal number'?
What do you mean Shawn protecting himself and his family? From who? The government? There are plenty of former military and CIA who peddle conspiracy theories. Michael Flynn is a prime example. And Livensberger, who just blew himself up and injured 7 people, was Special Forces and his manifesto was full of conspiracy theories and a call for a coup. MOOI understand these men taking this very seriously and Shawn protecting himself and his family. There are a lot of crack pots out there and at this point no one knows where the truth lies and what it will reveal. Shawn Ryan is a former Navy Seal and CIA contractor - Sam Shoemate is an Intelligence Officer and Chief Warrant Officer 2. I don't consider them conspiracy peddlers. All JMO.
I don't know that they did sit on it. I listened to the show they did. He said he was in contact with ML and emailed on Sunday, but ML didn't send THE email until Tuesday. That was New Years Eve so I question if the recipient even read it that day or saw it. Hard to report something you didn't see yet. He didn't get that email about him having a bomb on Sunday.. he received it Tuesday. I'd have to listen again but he even said the exact time he was sent.. but I don't think he said what day/time he actually read that email.I agree Sundog that I want to hear their views. They have a platform for that.
What I disagree with, is the decision to sit on info that someone is driving around with a bomb.
Full Stop that is where the line is in my mind.
When you choose to sit on it, you choose to become part of a problem rather than a solution. IMO, we are very lucky there were no other lives taken.
I believe protecting himself legally. He had communication from a person that blew himself up. It makes sense to consult the lawyer and make sure anything you release, say, or do is legally okay and not going to come back on you. People are very happy to sue others these days or place blame wherever they can so they don't have to be accountable. What do you mean Shawn protecting himself and his family? From who? I think he also wanted to be sure that his family was protected and safe. Lots of crazies out there and you have to protect yourself and your family when you are a public person with a huge following on social media.I believe protecting himself legally. He sent out a humorous tweet about the email and many other things at 12:50 pm on Dec 31st. "My inbox is especially eventful, allegations of war crimes, antigravity technology, and fears about being tracked by the FBI and feds".I don't know that they did sit on it. I listened to the show they did. He said he was in contact with ML and emailed on Sunday, but ML didn't send THE email until Tuesday. "So ... he says, 'I am armed and I have a massive VBIED. I've been trying to maintain a very visible profile and have kept my phone and they are definitely digitally tracking me,'" Shoemate said, reading from the email.
I hope HOPE this is all FAKE, because given the level of experience of the Podcasters, it seems they would recognize if you see something you say something.

The podcaster didn't receive this information until after the Las Vegas car bombing.
The other individual involved is the retired Intelligence officer who has an Instagram account and his Instagram and other accounts gets tons of messages and emails from all kinds of weirdos, as OP noted. At that time, it was just another crazy message.
We need to remember that these people are victims of ML, as are many others. They didn't ask to be part of ML's destructive mission. It was dumped on them.
