Wow just imagine the outrage from him if that happens, and he's treated the same as anyone else would be.

HA!

Supporters chaining themselves to his real estate holdings because they are too dumb to know that only works in a demolition.

Trump tells Ingraham on his Fox townhall that the $355 million judgment leveled against him in his NY civil fraud trial is a “form of Navalny”

Thank goodness they called off the truck boycott. I was imagining having to drop supplies in to the teeming masses- Berlin airlift-style.
WS really needs a sarcasm font

As Trump begs to stay enforcement of the not-yet-entered judgment, the AG’s office responds, reminding the court that Trump et al. already asked for that relief—and the court declined. Settle this now, and start the clock, they insist.

Judge Engoron has reached his limits. It appears that he has signed the judgment and that all that needs to happen now is for the clerk to enter it.

At that rate, Trump’s original ruling with interest would indicate he will need to secure a bond worth more than $540 million. But it’s unlikely that the real estate baron will be able to use his properties as collateral.

It’s “not very attractive to take real estate as collateral,” said Neil Pedersen, owner of New York-based surety bond agency Pedersen & Sons.

Trump could have to liquidate some assets to secure a bond, said Pedersen. The bond company will also charge a fee that could total millions of dollars.

An appeal of Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling could take years to play out.
....
Habba also appeared to dismiss a question about whether Trump will have to sell off his New York real estate assets as his legal troubles mount.

But Pedersen warned that doing so could cause its own “headache.”

Those assets are not liquid, so if Trump loses the appeal, the process of converting them to cash could be difficult — perhaps even more so in a case that was centered around disputes about the value of Trump’s properties.

Habba did not immediately respond to questions from CNBC about the process of securing an appeal bond.

Judge formally says Trump owes $454 million in civil fraud case, countdown starts for him to put up the money for appeal

Once Trump and the others are served with the judgment, the 30-day clock for them to file an appeal starts. During that period Trump will need to put up cash or post bond to cover the $355 million and additional roughly $100 million in interest he was ordered to pay. The sons were each ordered to pay $4 million back in gains they improperly received because of the fraud. The judge also banned the Trumps from serving as officers of a business entity in New York for several years.

Trump asks appeals court to stay $454 million judgment until his appeal is over - CNN

Former President Donald Trump asked a New York appeals court on Wednesday to delay his obligation to post $454 million until his appeal of the civil fraud verdict is over.

“The judgment order unprecedented and punitive disgorgement of nearly $460 million and overbroad permanent injunctive relief against Appellants in the absence of legal authority or factual support,” Trump’s attorneys wrote in the filing.

Trump has less than 30 days to post the money to prevent the New York attorney general’s office from taking steps to execute the judgment, including potentially move to seize properties. It is not yet clear how he plans to cover the payment.

The alleged billionaire says he should only have to post $100 million.

Trump’s lawyers said in a court filing that he is prepared to post a $100 million appeal bond rather than a bond covering the full amount, which would have automatically paused enforcement.

This is not a negotiation. This is not a plea deal. This is enforcement of a court judgement.

And his pattern is to make a low-ball offer, get the other party to accept it, and never actually fulfill the deal.

So, Mitch McConnell is finally throwing in the towel--
Trump takes down another----- McConnell knows this is not the Republican party any longer- it is Trump's party--- another one bites the dust. I don't love Mitch-- but it took a lot for him to finally pack it in

Judge GRANTS Trump a partial stay of $465M fraud judgment that allows him and his sons to steer the company and obtain loans to put up a bond while they appeal.
Judge said he was “somewhat sympathetic” to arg Trump didn't have the cash & couldn't get a loan.

Trump will still have to post a bond for the full judgment, but the industry and loan bans have been temporarily lifted.

^The lede should be that the court denied the stay of enforcement of the money judgment. They have till March 25. Clock's a ticking.

But he still does have a shot at the March 18 hearing on this motion.

From Trump's Application for stay (1794 pages).

A. Irreparable Harm Inheres to Appellants from Any Forced Sale of Properties
In the absence of a stay on the terms herein outlined, properties would likely need to be sold to raise capital under exigent circumstances, and there would be no way to recover any property sold following a successful appeal and no means to recover the resulting financial losses from the Attorney General. Thus, Supreme Court and the Attorney General will have succeeded in imposing a punitive and irreversible financial sanction even where Appellants prevail on appeal. Simply put, Appellants would be unable to recover the value of that which was taken by the court and the Attorney General during the pendency of the appeal.
