Lindsey Halligan sends multiple texts to legal reporter - The Hill

Lindsey Halligan, the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, reportedly sent multiple texts to Lawfare journalist Anna Bower related to New York Attorney General Letitia James’s (D) recent indictment.

In a report published Monday, Bower says Halligan reached out to her Oct. 11 and texted with her for two days. Bower writes that she had initially posted on the social platform X about New York Times reporting on the indictment and links to James’s family.

This story is wild! I read it elsewhere earlier, but it’s great to get it directly from Anna Bower. It doesn’t speak well of Halligan’s intelligence IMO.

I realize Halligan isn’t part of Trump’s Cabinet, but I couldn’t help but think of this sign from the No Kings protest on Saturday…. “IKEA HAS BETTER CABINETS THAN TRUMP!” Certainly less offensive than the gif Trump posted showing Trump flying an airplane dumping loads of excrement on the demonstrators. What are we coming to?!

I predict Halligan won’t last long when she loses these cases.

Time will tell. Don’t let the humor throw you off. It’s long been used in protests. And it makes clear that Portland Oregon is NOT “war-ravaged,” “burning down,” or “on fire” as Trump falsely claims, seeming to confuse the protests in 2020 with the current ones.

I just want to clarify that I focused on Portland because I live in Oregon (at the other end of the state) and the humorous costumes, etc originated in Portland, in line with the “Keep Portland Weird” motto. I’m glad to see other cities adopting the humor, including my small city of about 22K.
