Folks not testifying for defense after all...

Ghislaine Maxwell’s list of people who will speak in her defense Friday featured a person sick with COVID, a witness who planned to plead the Fifth and an octogenarian pub owner who is still in London, frustrating the judge on her case.

Manhattan Federal Court Judge Alison Nathan told Maxwell’s high-powered legal defense team that it was now or never. The British socialite needed to produce her witnesses without delay or proceed to closing arguments earlier than expected.

A defiant Maxwell sounded confident, if unfazed, as she said this. Bobbi Sternheim stood beside her, with her arm curled around Maxwell’s lower back. Headed back into the courtroom now.

Ghislaine Maxwell stood up straight and used a steady voice to announce her decision. Defense attorney Bobbi Sternheim rubbed her back when she was done.

A nice back massage at the end of an annoying court trial. All GM needs now is her bar of soap and tube of Colgate.

Closings on Monday
To jury on Tuesday
Verdict on Wednesday?
Will closing arguments take that long? Could they give it to the jury on Monday?

Ghislaine Maxwell just stood up in court: “Your honor, the government has not proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt and so there is no reason for me to testify.”

Definitely thinking out loud and all MOO, but isn't it when the prosecution has proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt, that is when a defendant might think that there would be no reason/need or it might be unwise to testify as a defendant - because all one could do is add to the fire/damage one’s case.

If the prosecution hasn’t proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt - ie the prosecution case is weak - surely that is when as an innocent defendant it is worth taking to the stand because as an innocent defendant you can further undermine the weak case of the prosecution with ‘facts’?

Obviously MOO

Epstein’s Socialite Ex Eva Andersson-Dubin Denies Having Orgies With Teen Girls

Asked whether Dubin had ever engaged in a sexual encounter with Jane, Dubin replied firmly, “Absolutely not.”

Indeed, under cross examination by prosecutor Alison Moe, Dubin testified that she’s lately experienced problems with her memory because of medical issues. “Dr. Dubin, are you having some issues with your memory?” Moe asked, to which Dubin replied, “Yes, I do.”

“It’s very hard for me to remember from far back,” Dubin testified. “Sometimes I can’t remember things from last month… my family notices it.”

Which begs the question......If her memory is so bad, how does she remember she didn't engage in a sexual encounter with Jane?

Smiling like a couple of Cheshire Cats. They thought they were invincible. I know he's no longer smiling and my guess is she won't be smiling anytime soon.

She's going to get some token time, quietly serve it, and disappear. She has way too much info on who knows who. This will all quietly go away.
Remember Heidi Fleiss and that black book.....?
Enough said.

Amateur opinion and speculation

@kbriquelet

Michelle Healy, who worked for Epstein in the '90s, testified after Eva Dubin & said she met the victim referred to as "Jane" but that "she looked like a grownup to me."
She said Jane wore a lot of makeup!
@JayShams
Ghislaine Maxwell's defense attorneys are planning to get a guy named Alexander Hamilton to testify in her defense, but he's in London and has COVID. This is not a joke tweet.
Ghislaine Maxwell's defense attorneys have withdrawn Alexander Hamilton. He will no longer testify in her defense.
The defense witnesses are dropping like flies. LOL

Thanks to everyone who is posting the updates.

Have no clue how this will play out.
But, I'm thinking GM will be sweating and tossing and turning this entire weekend .
Despite her false bravado, she is well aware the next few days will seal her fate.
Would not want to be in her shoes.
MOO.

I couldn't help but notice her list of 3 reminded me of Moe, Larry and Curly. :rolleyes:

Good ol' GM, carrying on JE's legacy of expecting massages. Hope BS got paid enough for that public display.
