Ghislaine Maxwell could spend her 20-year sentence in the low-security facility that was the inspiration for the women’s prison in Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black.”

US Circuit Judge Alison Nathan recommended that Maxwell serve her time in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, a 1000-inmate facility about 55 miles from New York City. Maxwell’s lawyers requested she be sent to Danbury following her sentencing on Tuesday.
It doesn't look like there are too many fun activities at that one. Training SAR dogs? Growing vegetables? Working out on the track?
And, IIRC, sex offenders aren't allowed programming outside the fence (maybe this is another way of saying they aren't eligible for minimum security or camps).

Actually, it's more intimidating than I thought it would be for "low".

"After the sentencing, Maxwell's attorney Bobbi Sternheim said outside the courthouse:
'Our client Ghislaine Maxwell has been vilified, pilloried and left little room for her to be treated fairly. Because even before she stropped forward into this courthouse, she was being tried and convicted in the court of public opinion.

'Ghislaine will appeal this case and we're confident she will prevail on appeal.'

"This prison is like Disneyland next to hellhole she has been in for two years: Manicured lawns, aerobics, arts and crafts classes... Let's take a look at Ghislaine Maxwell's new home"

Ghislaine Maxwell's 20-year sentence the 'final nail in the coffin' for Prince Andrew, experts say

Natalie Oliveri - 1h ago
The 20-year sentence given to socialite Ghislaine Maxwell for her role in the trafficking of young girls for sex is the "final nail in the coffin" for Prince Andrew, experts say.

Maxwell will spent two decades in prison for helping the wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse teenage girls.

The trial exposed Maxwell and Epstein's links with some of the world's most powerful men, including former US presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump and Prince Andrew.

Good behavior is around 50 days a years reduction I believe
Okay. So, we need to factor in the days that she is kind, friendly and teaching ESL and yoga. Not being haughty, arrogant and entitled? Would that be 50 days worth? Perhaps that would include Bible class or religious services?
Maintaining that for 20 years?
Tall order, IMO.

Ghislaine Maxwell told her victims she hoped her sentence would bring them “a measure of peace and finality” moments before she was handed 20 years behind bars.

The British socialite said meeting Jeffrey Epstein was the “greatest regret of my life” and that she wanted to “acknowledge the suffering” of her victims.

Maxwell arrived for the hearing wearing a prison-issued uniform, with shackles around her ankles which rattled as she made her way to her seat in the courtroom in the Southern District.
I don't believe a word she said. they are the little people. MOO.

Well isn't that too bad that in this day and age people pay attention? Informed in real time? Isn't that the way of the world today? Good or bad, it is what it is.
MOO.
Nor do I believe she is confident that they will prevail on appeal.
IMO.

Will she stay 20 years or is there a possibility of parole???
Any photos out there: what does she look like, after being 'locked up' and now 20 years ?

"The juror who almost derailed Ghislaine Maxwell's guilty verdict attended her sentencing wearing a camouflaged hoodie"

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Today’s sentence holds Ghislaine Maxwell accountable for perpetrating heinous crimes against children. This sentence sends a strong message that no one is above the law and it is never too late for justice. We again express our gratitude to Epstein and Maxwell’s victims for their courage in coming forward, in testifying at trial, and in sharing their stories as part of today’s sentencing.”

I wonder if GM thought that her speech to the victims was an apology - sure didn't sound like it to me. And yes, she still thinks they are the "little people."

She is going to appellate.
She might have thought apologising could prejudice her chances (admission of guilt).
MOO

I believe GM is the youngest of the Maxwell siblings. It gives me pleasure to think that when she is eventually released, they may have all passed, and won't be there to welcome her back into their luxurious lives.

so...are they actually ever going to go after the men that had sex with them?

Epstein is dead so his victims will never be able to hold him responsible.

Prince Andrew is basically immune to any "real" consequences. Maxwell has been sentenced.

There IS Peter Nygard and his cases. I'm certain these guys all "island hopped" together and shared all kinds of things. How could they all be living in these locations, living the same lifestyle and not know each other?? Sick birds of a feather...

Proving sexual assault, abuse, child-related crimes is difficult as we've seen. It's also humiliating, exhausting and draining. Not to mention the sentence is never enough, justice almost doesn't exist and no amount of financial compensation will ever take away the complete and utter rage of having been victimized.

These other players in this game are probably playing right now somewhere on a yacht without a care in the world.

Exactly - all powerful men that sexually assaulted and took advantage of minor girls on many levels. Time to name them! You notice not one DC congressman is asking for that...

Sen. Ben Sasse, a Nebraska Republican, says he wants justice to be served following the guilty verdict in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial.

"Justice must be done. Epstein and Maxwell's victims deserve nothing less," Sasse said in a press releasefollowing Wednesday's verdict. "The DOJ failed again and again and again when Epstein escaped justice. Maxwell must pay for her heinous crimes. This verdict shouldn't be the end: The DOJ needs to go after every single 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 who committed crimes with Maxwell and Epstein."

I wasnt talking about Epstein I meant the guys these girls were trafficked to. Why does no one seem interested in going after them?

Sssshhhhh! It's a secret!
You and me, along with the rest of the "randos" out there are not privy to this information. The government has spoken, IMO of course. Watch ( or read through ) this trial thread. There were many items not discussed, or allowed in this trial...because they would have been "on the record" . This was agreed upon by the DA, the Maxwell defense team as well as the judge. Some secrets are to remain secret.

See... Prince Andrew
