She was a member of the Euro elite, her family was disgustingly rich, she was (is?) friends with multiple royals, she had 3 passports, her class got immunity at international borders, in FL she and her lieutenants got immunity for crimes involving JE... Insider June 16: GM claims of vermin poop and raw sewage in her cell.

It'd be great if her squeaky wheel drew enough attention to the living conditions in this facility and the admin changed it for the better for all inmates.

The raw sewage surely came about because GM refuses to clean her toilet. We went through this in a previous round of appeals with that delicious response from the jail via the prosecutor. Remember the scene she described where the guard supervised her as she scrubbed?

Maybe GM's sabotaging it, too. Nothing like some wadding to make it a mess; there might even be one of those ubiquitous signs next to it that gave her ideas, you know, the sign that says "Do not put xyz in the toilet because it backs up." Now, any other inmate might have drawn the conclusion that making the system back up would be counterproductive, but GM seems to think she's an inmate like no other. Besides, it's not her job to clean up (we've gone through the poop clean up appeal already).

So, I can see why there might be poop on the floor, and I can make a good guess as to how it got there. Has anyone verified that it was issued forth from "vermin"?

It's also possible, to venture the obvious, GM is not popular with other inmates..... This may have some impact on her lifestyle. She's prolly not a guard fave, either. I guess she's in isolation, but where there's a will, there's a way. And poop would kind of send a clear message: "don't mess with us, or...." I could say it a lot grosser, but it wouldn't meet with moderator approval.

She doesn't even spend that much time in her cell, though, IIRC? She's in the special room set aside for her with the government issues laptop, available 15 hours a day, replete with documents? Other than that, she spends 5 hours a day with her attorneys? So, when is this suffering the insufferable "vermin poop" and "sewage" supposed to be happening?

Maybe a displaced poop fetish played a role in GM's crime? Gosh, that would be just so Freudian...

A sympathetic nod, perhaps, to the French side of the family, prolly at the insistence of her attorneys, at her behest. Maybe not that big of a payola, since tabloids tend to be her team's media of choice. (Recall, in an effort to generate sympathy for their client, they fanned the flames of notoriety re the toilet cleaning episode by going straight to the tabloids. (Note: they are very obviously hopelessly inept at PR; I mean, who tells the tabloids their client won't clean their toilet?)
Seriously, can you think of another case where a co-conspirator (with very significant charges) is framed as a "confidante" rather than accused criminal?

Two 2016 depositions of Ghislaine Maxwell in a civil case in which she was repeatedly questioned about Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual activities can be used at her criminal trial on sex trafficking charges in November, a judge in New York ruled on Friday.

US district judge Alison Nathan rejected lawyers’ request that she block prosecutors from using the interviews.

Maxwell’s lawyers had hoped to force the dismissal of two perjury counts stemming from her answers to questions during depositions in April and July 2016.

In one count, Maxwell was charged with lying after saying “I don’t know what you’re talking about” when she was asked if Epstein had a “scheme to recruit underage girls for sexual massages”.

In another count, Maxwell was charged with perjury for saying she did not recall whether she was aware of the presence of sex toys or devices in sexual activities at Epstein’s home in Palm Beach, Florida, and for saying she wasn’t aware whether Epstein was having sexual activities with anyone other than herself.

The perjury charges stemmed from comments during depositions in a lawsuit brought by one of Epstein’s accusers, Virginia Giuffre, which has since been settled.

IMO GM knew exactly what she was doing, and it was not about doing children favors. It was about grooming, training, and facilitating young women for sex. She offered them up to a paedophile with no chance of escape.

One thing about GM's entitlement. In the context of jail and the legal system, her demands and complaints are hilarious. My favorite written document so far has been the prosecution's written summary addressing the judge's request to suss out some of GM's jail complaints. That's how we got the low-down on the toilet episode.

I'll see if I can find that document. IIRC It put so many juicy details in the footnotes as though to suggest they were a side topic, but the footnotes were so lengthy, they became a centerpiece. And the whole thing seemed to be written in a smirk tone.

I seem to recall we had another document from the prosecutor's office responding to GM's complaints, but maybe someone can locate it? It included Chapter 2 on the toilet matter. Oh, yes, then we have the one just ^^^ that reflected Chapter 3...we're now on to sewage on the floor. It seems likely to me that this is er fallout from GM's self-induced toilet adventures.
I guess this is a symptom of entitlement or maybe a toilet fetish? Have we seen this in another case?
I hope they made her use the plunger and clean up the toilet overflow.
I love how she uses the elevated "sewage" as though it is a major problem on her floor which has victimized her and made her conditions intolerable, and not "overflow from the toilet [in her cell]". If there really was sewage at large, IMO the floor would have been evacuated; although jail is a horrible place, I doubt rampant raw sewage would be a thing. It would affect guards, too.

Oh, the inconvenience of being patted down, having to remove her mask and open her mouth! Having dealt with people like her, I don't envy the staff assigned to deal with her.

She went after low-income because their parents wouldn't be potential problems to deal with, imo.

I think part of the grooming process was to see which parents would object. Plenty of low-income parents would notice and put an end to the attention/"job" offers, but GM would just move on to a girl whose parents didn't notice or object.

I wonder if any parents were paid off or threatened into silence.

Oooh.... This should be good. Upcoming three-part documentary. It seems GM met Epstein in the 1980's and started bringing him "nubile girls" that far back. This was before her father died. Up to now, the story had been that she got chummy with Epstein because he filled a void AFTER her father died.

This article makes no bones about calling GM a "procuress". Personally, I like the Guardian for the quality of writing and because it keeps to the facts except in "opinion" articles etc. It "calls a spade a spade".

Now I notice that Ghislaine is pronounced with the Ghi like gi in "give". I always thought it was anglicized (Brits love butchering French) to Jeez.

This add a whole 'nother layer of fun. She's gonna be sitting in court with witnesses making a hideous mash of her name, and she won't be able to do a thing about it. Watch for someone to butcher it in court just for fun.
