You are right... I have a lot of mutual friends with Joey as well.. One girl in particular posted a video with her and him shopping at a supermarket.. There were also numerous pics of him and her at clubs kissing and what not... Anyhow maybe he used instagram as more of a dedicated to his bros... Lets take the gay angle out of this then...

Anyhow, until we hear one of these females talk we can't make any assumptions... For all we know Joey went to Gilded Lilly and Max and Larry texted/called him and asked him to come to James' place for an after hours party... However alot of reports do say Joey entered the apartment with ladies.. Do we know if the ladies were originally with Max and Larry and they all waited for him outside of James' apartment to enter the building together? Highly unlikely... I really think the girls have to be of interest IF and only IF it is correct that Larry and Max were originally at 1 OAK and then met Joey and the girls from Gilded Lilly at James' apartment... The story about Max and Larry only going to 1 OAK doesnt add up to me... Max to me seems like a little sneak... I think he knows more than meets the eye... Also didnt Larry say we took Joey and buried him??? How would he know to call him that if he didnt know him?? Wouldnt he say Joe or Joseph or Mr. Comunale??? Anyhow back to Max... He claimed he didnt feel comfortable sleeping in pants.. Thats BS... You are hammered.. Its late... You take your shoes off and jacket and pass you out.. No need to take your clothes off and borrow someone else's when you are leaving early.. Also, didnt Max come from money anyways?? Why is he staying and taking the PATH? Whenever I party in the city and party at someones place the last thing I want to do is stay at my friends house.. I would either stay with a chick or take an UBER home... The stuff Max says is not making sense... Like I said... I know the scene in NYC and his stories dont make any sense... Staying over at a guys place, using PATH next day, changing clothes....

Also I dont think James had anything to do with this... Despite his shady past, he has it SET with Jeffrey... Why blow it??? Max is the one to start with... And I bet it will end with him...

I don't know why he would say he took the PATH unless he really did....because there are cameras at the station and even on the cars. There will be proof to back up what he said (or no proof to back it up, if he is lying).

It's my understanding that MG and LD lived about an hour's drive or so from NYC. That would be a long uber ride. Maybe MG took an uber or cab to the PATH station, though. If so, there might be another transaction to back up his timeline.

The way that I've reached certain conclusions is by trying to put myself at the scene.

Rigor Mortis is a very real occurrence and the suspects being in their mid 20s, hungover and very sleep deprived probably went in extreme panic mode at this point.

Joey then became an inanimate object that could put them prison for the rest of their lives and had to be removed by any means possible. So, to me, the initial reports of him being severed make the most sense. I'm sorry to be so blunt.

The suspects would have no reason to be anywhere near the basement adjusting the cameras and dragging out bags unless that was where Joey was. I believe his body was wrapped in those sheets and brought to the burial spot.

I wonder about the initial reports so adamantly stating they didn't know each other and Joey's pants being off. I feel Jeffrey wanted to distance himself and Pat C wanted to stress the point of Joey being straight.

They had Dilione on tape dragging garbage bags, with a confession of burying Joey, yet literally over night everything flip flopped to duffel bags and suitcases. When you Google Joey Comunale now articles from the 21st show up first.

I'm on about page #38 of thread 1 and I feel I'm learning some things that didn't penetrate the first time reading.

Regardless of how this plays out, I hope someone writes a book about it because I would definitely buy it

1st - Excellent point about referring to JC as "Joey" and not Joseph or Joe. There is definitely a level of familiarity there.
And 2nd - YES regarding the change of clothes! I'm sure it happens (where one guy may ask another to borrow a pair of shorts? maybe? just trying to keep an open mind) but I have never, in my entire life, ever witnessed one guy ask another for a change of clothes at an after party. Girls - yes, we do that if we are close with the person whose apartment it is and the outfit worn is very over the top (i.e. something worn to a nightclub). But not guys. Even in the middle of summer, when it's 100 degrees outside and the only a/c unit is the one in the window, it isn't unusual to be one of many in an apartment and wake up to a bunch of people passed out on couches still wearing the clothes they wore the night before because they simply were too lazy to get up, change, and make their way home. Everyone laughs and if you know the group well, you all head to the diner around the corner for breakfast (or brunch depending on what time it is). This holds true for the jersey shore and the hamptons, at any age.

Max Gemma claims he woke up when it was dark and left for the PATH. Sunrise in November on the East Coast is around 630 AM. So that statement doesn't seem to hold true.

I can't necessarily question his statements about taking the PATH because you know as well as I do that cab/UBER costs even on one night can add up so there is always that possibility that he did indeed take the PATH back to Jersey. Additionally, overall, it's extremely costly to go out in NYC, especially for guys.

I've gone back and forth with regard to my opinion on JR's guilt/innocence in this whole situation - especially when Max was introduced into the picture and I'm still not sure what to think. But you are right about Gemma... there is way more there that I hope LE is looking into and considering

An Uber ride from NYC to Jersey City/Hoboken costs 50-60 bucks depending on if you take an UberX or Uber XL or if there is a surcharge.. .I live in Hoboken so I would know... I am saying as a man, if I am at a party with my other guy friends, and we are partying all night theres no reason to stay there.. If you are all coked up you are awake.. You call an Uber and get the heck home... This little sneak changed his clothes, passed out for TWO hours (why do you need to change your clothes for two hours of sleep), and left in the dark to take a cab to Path station to take train home... Im telling you this story does not add up... Also, the Path runs every 20-30 minutes on weekend nights.. Why would he sit there at the station waiting for the Path when you can get in an Uber, pass out, and know you are on your way home??? More and more I think about this and compare it to my experiences the more it doesnt add up...

Why would James jeopardize his lifestyle to get involved?? This whole coverup is so shoddy too lol.. Shallow grave... Bleach everywhere... Blood stains still in apartment... I mean what the heck were these kids on to think they would get away with this??? Also again, what was going on from 730 AM Sunday till late at night Sunday??? Did Joey hang out all day and then an argument ensued?? I mean how do we know what time this murder took place?? If it did take place early Sunday, you mean to tell me Jeffrey saw absolutely NOTHING that would have looked suspicious... I am telling you Jeffrey knows more than meets the eye... The guy has paid off people to keep it hush hush that he knows something and he kept a boy toy... so Max left early and then what??? Larry hung out all day in the apartment while James then went or stayed upstairs to hang with Jeffrey to watch football and the body is just sitting somewhere??? Is there any footage of Larry leaving the building anytime between when he reentered with Joey and when they supposedly left at night to take the body out of the building??? I am telling you.. This does not add up what so ever... If they were so clever to leave at night with the body rather than daylight, how could they be idiots to dig a shallow grave and then immediately say where Joey was buried???

They lived in Hoboken? I thought they lived much further away than that.

Thanks for the info. Where did they live?

Larry and Max live in Jersey City as roomates... Jersey City is the next town over from Hoboken which is where I live... When you get into Jersey from Holland you are in Jersey City.. When you into Jersey from Lincoln you are in Hoboken... Either way its not an expensive ride...

I'm familiar with the general area but for some reason thought they lived further away. I'm following too many cases I suppose to keep them straight.

Donna7777,
This is JMO, but here's my take on some of these issues that seem to be not making sense. I'm basing my theory on the fact that I live in Sutton Place, in a building similar to The Grand Sutton, which is exactly 3 blocks away from it. Let me begin with how shareholders and building staff interact with each other. First, let me address LD & JR adjusting the cameras. In buildings such as The Grand Sutton in Manhattan with a full building staff, the staff members get to know the behaviors and habits of the residents. It has been reported in MSM that JR & his friends used cocaine and drank alcohol, so the staff may have been used to his erratic behavior. Adjusting a security camera doesn't warrant a 911 call. Typically, the protocol would be to let the board or bldg management address these issues. What they would probably do is send him a letter that would be kept on file. Manhattan keeps track of problems residents have with the building management and this in turn affects their ability to rent or purchase another place once they leave that building. For example, if a renter sues the building mgmt and tries to rent another apt in a different bldg, the potentially new landlord will see this and will more than likely not rent to the person who sued his or her last building.

I want to add one more thing to the above...
NYC real estate is in a class of its own in that it kind of seems to have its own set of rules. Building staff know their tenants front and back, by apartment #, by name, with details off the top of their head, and protect their tenants first and foremost. But It's unlikely they'll get involved if it's a tenant vs building management. they are more likely to turn a blind eye unless something is happening that could jeopardize their job.
At the end of the day, the landlord/building management only really cares about getting his or her rent paid, getting paid consistently, and getting paid by a reliable lessee. Granted I've never tried to buy property in NYC, but I have rented multiple properties simultaneously, and this seems to be the biggest and most important priority above all else.

All good.. .Like I said I am friends with Joey's friends so know of this case... I do the nightlife scene so I am trying to put myself in his situation and like I said it just doesn't add up...

So sorry for the loss his group of friends is suffering. Joey seems like he was a great guy.

There's a lot of missing information however towards the beginning of this thread there is a timeline. Unfortunately it's not very detailed. If you check out webcrimsny you can pull up all the suspects next court dates. More information may leak out if they appear and anything is discussed at those dates.

IMO whatever transpired during this whole ordeal will all come to light. Between surveillance cameras, phone records/pings, credit card transactions LE will be able to track/fill in/negate lies they've been told or missing info they need.

Hopefully that made sense

He was and thats where it doesnt add up... The kid knew his surroundings very well... That's why these girls are an important cog to this case.. If Max and Larry werent at Gilded Lily, why did Joey then go to James' apartment? Probably the girls wanted to party and asked Joey to come and do coke... Also Joey went at least 1 friend to the club but that person or persons never went to James'.. He probably assured them or him that he was fine... Why else would he leave his friend or friends unless he thought he was going to hook up with one of these chicks??? Anyhow the girls on camera leave.. Why did Joey then go back to apartment with Larry??? Did he know Larry from prior relationship? If so I understand... Maybe they were boys... Or did Larry promise him some more blow and Joey felt comfortable staying there to do blow and then eventually leave... No way if you are not hooking up do you then go back to a random dude's place unless you are scoring drugs... after the girls left something went down and that's what we have to figure out...

Yes I'm with you! totally... what I meant was, there's been so much discussed about it in this forum, so many fascinating opinions, so much back and forth in the press, so many discrepancies in MSM, and obviously so much LE still hasn't released that they wont release until trial, that my head is starting to spin!

So I'm going to sit back and wait for some new information to be released that will hopefully be accurate, and hopefully help fill in some of the gaps we all keep wondering about.

Agreed thats an excellent point... Credit card transactions will show who was where (if Max, Larry, or even James was anywhere at these clubs).. Heck even if we know Joey was at Gilded Lilly and maybe not somewhere else (e.g., 1 Oak)... Credit card transactions and the "girls" statements are the best start

That's why I am suspecting Jeffrey knew more... Number 1 he wants to protect his image of possibly being a gay sugar daddy... Understandable since he has relationships with higher ups (e.g., Trump, Bo Dietl, etc.)... Number 2, he knows more than meets the eye... Unless the murder took place after 10 AM (when he walked the dog), there is no way, unless he is protecting James, that he did not see something out of the ordinary... He is either lying or maybe Joey was still passed out and this murder happened later in the day... Remember there was a large gap in time between when we see Joey enter in morning with Larry vs. when James/Larry leave apartment... Jeffrey has a lot of money and has a reputation to uphold... He is making sure nothing out of ordinary gets leaked.. .Only thing we have is an article of him throwing away James' remnants, clothes, pics, etc...

This whole coverup is so shoddy too lol.. Shallow grave... Bleach everywhere...sloppy, and with someone with JRs' criminal background, IMO, I would think JR would have been smarter. which makes me lean more towards LD and MG who have no prior experience with this type of behavior, have privileged upbringings, and panicked causing them to make a mess of the situation. Blood stains still in apartment... I mean what the heck were these kids on to think they would get away with this??? Also again, what was going on from 730 AM Sunday till late at night Sunday??? IMO LD panicked and confessed to LE when he was brought in for questioning. IMO This was a night of partying gone wrong... to add insult to injury, these guys handled it VERY BADLY and made things worse.

As much as we need the information to piece together what happened, I'm sure Joey's family needs it even more. My heart goes out to his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him

Agreed I am with you on this... Larry looks like the main culprit (more fit, more built, etc..) and Max was the little henchman.. Helping to cover up.... Larry = Batman... Max = Robin

My kids go to the Guilded Lily (yeah...I'm old...I went to studio 54) and said some nights are more for a gay crowd than others.

Also, I don't think James was of rational state of mind to consider the consecquences that night. If what LE said is true and he was using steroids...add cocaine and alcohol and BOOM!

I do believe Joey knew James. Maybe Larry and Max. But definitely James. JMO

You dont pop steroids like ecstasy pills... Therefore, people dont blow lines and starting injecting/orally taking steroids... Steroids were found because he was a model... He wants to lift and maintain his physique... Also when you do coke and mix with alcohol, you are in a talkative state of mind... Not an aggressive I want to stab you 15 times because something happened... Coke makes you more cognizant of your surroundings.. Coke helps you get more sober... Not like weed... Now another interesting thing to think about is this so called safe... Was it open??? Did Joey see something he shouldnt have seen??? Maybe Larry/Max knew combo from James and there was drugs and money in there... Maybe it was left open and Joey tried to swipe some money/drugs from it and then an argument ensued??? I still think something happened while Joey was maybe passed out... I see Larry or Max in James' bedroom while Joey and Max or Larry passed out on couches or one big couch... Larry or Max suspect Joey took something and stab him while sleeping... It was a one bedroom apartment.... Where are all these guys sleeping/passing out??? I think James was either upstairs or not even in apartment.. In a 1 bedroom theres no way dude is sharing his bed with any of these guys...
