It sure does seem like that - but then he would know it's only a matter of time till he's caught, as any SK with this much media attention always does... I guess they all figure they will be the first not to get caught...

I wonder if he is eating up all the media attention and interest in his case? I can see him in his den, pictures of his victims tacked neatly to the wall, each victim with her own box of possessions carefully laid out in the drawers of an older mahogany chest. All the latest in devices he might need in his 'work' and Richard Strauss being heard throughout the rooms of his abode as he keeps abreast with comments on his crimes on the Web. A happy man who thinks he has accomplished great Justice for mankind by what he does so well.

Police are not yet releasing the name of the 48-year-old man who was staying at the Oak Beach, N.Y., summer home owned by businessman Joseph Brewer, the man who hired Gilbert in May 2010 and who was also with her that night.

I am wondering if JB is a "go-to guy" in the Oak Beach community. For example, if you need drugs, you go to him. If you need girls, you go to him. If you need prescription drugs, you go to him. There may be some famous and upper class people in that community who could not risk being caught directly so they use a "go-to guy" to get what they need. And I wonder if someone in the community went to him for a girl. And the girl realized that this guy was going to kill her and she freaked out. And then she goes back to JB's house and starts a commotion and then it's JB's job to make her go away. Just an idea that I've been throwing around.

Going back to read this whole thread so sorry if this has already been posted BUT... I just listened to Sherre's interview and I just want to say:

- There are no cornfields in Oak Beach. Reeds, perhaps, which I guess can look like corn, but definitely no cornfields.
- Definitely no abandoned homes. Perhaps summer homes which are not used in winter when she was there.

I don't think so as this guy has been a doctor for 32 years. Has to be in his 60's right? The other doctor was 44, so that isn't right either.

And her sister knew the name and said it in the interview.

I could swear I read a quote from a link here saying the mother had heard the whole 911 tape. I thought the sister said she was there when her mom listened to the tape. I could be dreaming, but . . .LOL. Remember it took 3 months for LE to find the 911 tapes. I'll try to find that link.

Hi, Scandi, I'm catching up, so I apologize if someone has already answered this. Two points:

In the mother-daughter interview, they said specifically that they had not heard the 911 tapes, but had been told about them.

In the daughter's interview, the daughter said that her sister did mention a name on the tape and she herself did name a name (the doctor's), but she made no claim that the latter was the former.

From the same link, it appears to me that in this early article that SG knew the name of her client, the john---JB! Also, in this early article, which does not name the john (JB), they are expecting one of the 4 bodies found to be SG's:

They include Shannan Gilbert, 24, who placed a 911 call the day she disappeared, telling an emergency operator that she feared for her life and was trying to get away from a client.

Her family said police know the man's name -- and that he lives near the stretch of Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach where the body believed to be Gilbert's, and three others, were found in the past two days.

"We all heard the last 911 call," said Gilbert's mother, Mari Gilbert. "[Shannan] was screaming the person's name [and saying], 'He is trying to kill me!' She was saying, 'Help me! Help me! Help me!' She was trying to escape. We know who it is."

IMO, We know who it is---meaning, the client-JB.

Thanks, Epiphany. Ths brings up an important point. Most of us assume that powerful personal experiences form indelible images on our minds. Studies have shown that this isn't so; even witnesses of events like September 11th remember things differently at different time. In this instance:

In their mother-daughter video, the mother (as I remember!) said that they had not heard the tape. In this earlier article, the mother is quoted directly as saying "we all" did and thus know the name of the person. Perhaps early on, the experience of hearing about the tape was so vivid that she remembered hearing it; or perhaps, they were asked not to mention that they heard it. For some reason, I find it difficult to imagine that the police would expose such a shaken family to such painful material.

Also, I noticed that the earlier interview with the daughter of her sister's words before the end of the call did not include any mention of a truck, which I always thought would have been incongruous under the condition: Would anyone in such an intoxicated state have the wherewithal to say, "It's a truck."
