Speaking as a WS'er - it is so frustrating to think about the possibility of not knowing the ending to a story. Yes, we know that she is safe and that is awesome - the very best outcome possible. But we love to solve things, and we need closure! I'm making fun of myself with that comment but it is so true. I'm so, so happy that she is safe and sound, but there's that part of me that wants the whole story. We've got the beginning, and middle (although not the complete beginning and middle I'm sure) and now I want....no I NEED an end. :) Okay - toddler rant over and I'll respect their wishes for privacy. But it's killin' me I tell ya!!

I agree. And I'll even go further and say if it were my family member, I am positive I'd make a statement to provide at least some answers for the thousands praying. "She did run away but she's getting the help she needs now" would suffice.

Absolutely! I know that there are a lot of trolls out there, and when something like this happen people can receive a lot of criticism for the choices they've made. But really, I think more people would be helped by it than hurt. Just the example of running away - how many of us would love to just run away when things get hard or uncomfortable. I don't actually act on it, but I've certainly entertained the idea of how nice it would be to just get away.

Granted she may have been taken against her will, and I hope that she has a great support system around her to help her through it. But we've seen how many survivor stories really encourage others. Privacy is hard, but when you invite the public in, well....you invite the public in. And now we're all family whether they want us or not. Lol.

Of course, I want the whole story after spending two weeks worried and goggle-hiking those woods, but I don't expect we'll get much. This was a very tight-lipped investigation all along. It made me uncomfortable then, and more of the same now. But, I respect the need for privacy at this time. As happy as I am that Rachael is home safe; understandably, it does leave me feeling kind of suspicious as to what really happened. Hey, my name is Curious!

Well. I could tell you this much.

Websleuths does not hesitate to end a thread when a victim is found alive within a couple of weeks; while posters start to turn from a possible ( " May they please be found alive comments) ; to an all out shame on them comments.

Jmo.

So if things start looking like this was planned by Rachael for whatever reason.

Then please remember that the mods will shut down the thread to avoid any negative comments of a mentally vulnerable person situation.

I do not judge her at all personally, but I'd still like to know.

I'm not getting the vibe that she did this for national attention (or any). She may just be unaware how stories like this spread.

I believe her. Remember what happened with AH?

Now, I wonder what they'll do with the stacks of tee shirts with her missing poster on them.

50% off?

I'm just happy she is OK. I don't need to know the story if it comes at the expense of her mental health.

Me too, unless there is a perp running around out there,it is not our business anymore.Time to move on to other missing people and there are many needing to be found.

There are family posts on social media asking for privacy.

There are also a lot of taxpayers asking for some kind of explanation of the funds that were used to send all these men and equipment on the hunt for Rachael. We pay the bills. We deserve to know if this was truly an abduction.

A simple Rachael has problems and she and her family are working on them would suffice. But to continue holding interviews saying nothing is not acceptable.

Every single agency has to have some accountability for the money spent.

Those that searched, hung missing posters, prayed and held vigils also deserve some kind of closure on what happened.

Huh? Just saw she has come home. Well, regardless of the reasons she was missing, I am glad her family has her back and can quit worrying. I am sure we all have a few skeletons in our closet, as I suspect is the case here. JMO

The only people she owes an explanation to are the police. Volunteers are not forced to hold vigils or search and tax payers money are public funds. She at the moment may be a victim and has a right to be left alone to deal or heal. Others need help being found.

Your point is completely valid. Remember the runaway bride from GA? I think I remember her having the pay restitution to cover the cost of the search.
