What in the absolute hell. This is horrible!
Catfishing/confidence schemes/etc are so evil and even if you take OUT the murder part of this story, it's STILL evil.
I don't condone or understand violence in general, but people who betray trust and prey on people's hearts, needs, fears, desires...I just always think about what kind of (alleged) "person" you have to be to SAY and DO those sorts of things to another person! The entire grift involves weaseling your way into people's hearts and deepest emotions. And in this case, after THAT, they killed this guy! I just don't even understand HOW you can chat with someone for ANY amount of time and get to "know" them on some level, they're a TOTAL stranger to you and affecting your life NOT AT ALL but YOU choose to get to know them, and THEN destroy them mentally, physically, or both. It feels like a crime should be "worse" or punished more harshly when this is involved. Getting angry at someone you already know in the heat of the moment and harming them is horrible, but feels SO much less...wicked, inhumane? Than whatever these types of people do.
