The poor children have almost certainly been abused in other ways as well. I hope there is a full investigation into this aspect and they get the care and support they need. MOO
I agree, I don't think I've heard of anything like this - maybe Junko Furuta in Japan?
Does anyone know if there have been similar cases in the US that will be used as precedent during this trial?
(MOO)
the murder of Sylvia Likens had some similarities with neighborhood children being involved.Brandon Teena comes to mind (gang rape, murder, hate crime).
Linda Weston: life in prison for abuse of disabled adults: Woman who held disabled people captive gets life in prison

Ethan? WI - Ethan Hauschultz, 7, beaten and buried in "coffin of snow", Manitowoc, April 2018 *arrests*I wasn’t even thinking about the involvement of others. Yes, obviously Sylvia. I can’t even bring myself to visit Wikipedia/refresh my memory on Sylvia and Junko. There was a boy - maybe 12-15? - who was abused and finally beaten to death by his guardians and cousins. I want to say 10-15 years ago in the Midwest. He has a thread here.
That was a great article. So very sad. This is an indepth story of PA history of narcissism and abuse. It's so heartbreaking for the people who got involved with her and also for her own children.

Law enforcement was called 8 times to the hotel where Sam Nordquist was held captive and killed, records show
It is unclear if law enforcement went into Room 22, where Nordquist was tortured for over a month before he died.www.nbcnews.com
