Found Deceased NY - Trevyan Rowe, 14, autistic, Rochester, 8 March 2018

My question would be who does he know that is buried in the cemetery, was he going to visit someone, and was his phone actually lost? (how did he call 911?) f it wasn't lost, was it actually taken? If he was bullied at school, I can imagine why he would want to seek solace somewhere like the cemetery.

If he was the one in the cemetery, I doubt that he went there because he knew someone (his family said he wasn't familiar with the area). Although Mount Hope does have more recent burials, it's actually more of a historic graveyard with some famous people (Susan B. Anthony, etc.). I actually think that if he was the boy who called from the cemetery that he simply left his school, wandered through Highland Park, and crossed Mount Hope Avenue and into the cemetery. Neither the park nor the cemetery would have many people around on a cold snowy morning, so if he needed to be alone for a little while, that would be where his feet would take him (away from houses and people)

The identity of the child that said they were calling and lost in a cemetery was not confirmed to be Treyvan Rowe. If he didn't have his phone it could have been some pranksters. Unfortunately there is no shortage of them out there, especially when there are tragic news stories out there.

As jersey Girl stated:
Police informed the family that around 5:15 p.m., they received a 911 call from a child saying he was lost in the cemetery. The identity of the child was not confirmed. Rochester police on Thursday evening searched nearby Mt. Hope Cemetery.

At 5:15 p.m. on Thursday evening, the public were not yet informed of the missing boy. His family didn't realize he was missing until he didn't come home from school and then they contacted police and the police didn't even start looking until 5 pm or after

Aren’t lakes and rivers/streams frozen over?

No. We had a spell of warm weather and most everything melted. There's some ice floes in the river, but it is not frozen. Even now, in last several days, it's been cold, but not enough for bodies of water to freeze -- about 30 at night and 34 in day. But still very cold for a young teen out there...somewhere

A great deal of ground to cover in pic 2.

How does he act when he's scared? He might be hiding from people because he's scared. Or just walking and walking and walking. He's big, so I hope he is spotted soon. It's cold there. :(

My son's aide (who joined the search effort yesterday) and I were discussing this...we don't have many details on his functional level, which can vary greatly with children on the spectrum...his cognitive level...is he verbal? Does he know how to get help if he needs it? From the credible sighting today, sounds like he is scared of people. But if it was him (so hope it was), he's stayed alive for >2 days in cold and snowy (very wet snow) weather. I had seen that sighting mentioned on FB and twitter but nothing in news yet -- it would be helpful if people in that neighborhood would be aware and keeping an eye out

The pic does help. a grid search but doesn't necessarily present his route.

The credible sighting is in the opposite direction of the cemetery.
In Park Ave at Thayer St., Kilburn St, and Barrington.

If this sighting is true, he would be up around East Ave by now.

If he were walking, he could have cut straight through the park, not taken the road. However, the sighting today (which certainly sounds like him) has him about 2 miles to the north and west of his school in the area of Park Ave, Thayer Street, Milburn street and Barrington

I'm sure worried about footprints and sightings near water. Although, it was mentioned early on that he was considered high functioning. That will reduce the water risk, some. I just feel like if he was ok, he would have asked for help from a store or something. I'm very concerned.

We were told he would be scared of strangers and unlikely to ask for help.
And yup...its very cold here. Took me hours to warm my toes after the search yesterday and I was wearing proper winter attire.

RPD's scuba team will "assess portions of the Genesee River to determine if it is safe and practical to conduct a search of possible areas where 911 callers that possibly observed someone matching Treyvan's description," Rochester Police Deputy Chief Mark Simmons said Saturday night at a press briefing.

Adult volunteers are asked to congregate at the Al Sigl building, door 5, from noon to 3 p.m. Volunteers will hand out flyers in high-traffic areas, but they will not participate in the grid searches.

I was really hoping we didn't have to think about the Genesee River...but sadly, it makes sense to look there.

I can't remember how to multi quote so I am just going to hit all the posts individually.

ETA...I am really not awake...I just quoted myself by mistake...more coffee needed!!

I am sad to say that we have had 2 different fliers with 2 different spelling of his name. I believe that Treyvon is correct and Trevyan is the error but I am not 100% sure. I noticed the spelling when we were out doing our search and forgot to mention it when we got back to headquarters.

My thoughts precisely. I'm assuming he's higher functioning; however, he is still a special needs child, and why on earth does school #12 NOT have staff out there for their special needs kids making sure they get off the bus and into the school house safely???

And why didn't school #12 call Trevyan's parents to check up on him when he didn't show up for school?? Eight hours of search time in cold snowy conditions were lost!!

Interesting that rather than school #12 or the Rochester School District heading up the community search efforts, it's my own son's school (Mary Cariola) and Autism Up that are taking the lead here.

This is such a huge mistake by the school...it could ultimately be the matter of life and death. Autism Up has been hands on throughout this...they are doing a great job! Mary Cariola was the staging center on Friday and they made an announcement to their employees that they could go out and search of they wanted...and many did. Also, the City of Rochester had many employees searching too.

Henry, I love your maps!!

All of the cemetery and Highland Park has been searched...I know there were people still in those places searching yesterday but LE has expanded the search out due to those places being thoroughly covered. Of course, things can be missed so can't hurt to have people still looking in those places.

Yes, the credible sighting is no where near where we were originally looking but in fact about a 45 minute walk from the place he went missing. Definitely doable with 2 days of walking but very unexpected that he was sighted there. There was a shift of searchers to that area after the sighting.

Can I be the link for the credible sighting? I was at the search headquarters and heard it with my own ears from Rochester Police Department, but it has not been verified through MSM.

ETA: This was a CREDIBLE sighting...NOT a CONFIRMED sighting.

Regarding the possible sighting...the Park Ave area would have a ton of cameras!! In fact, there are 2 webcams right on Park Ave (Jines webcam and Park Ave webcam...both can be found by googling...not sure if I'm allowed to link). I would imagine most businesses around there have cameras too. If one is going to be lost in the city this is probably one of the best neighborhoods to be lost in. Same with East Ave area if he has made his way there.
