Flynn's attorney alleges he has growing support of the community -- including from his wife's family where he's been staying with his daughters and their two dogs.

Flynn is arrogant and clearly doesn't understand any perceived support and/or kindness extended to him prior to his arrest was for the psychological support of the minor children. He wasn't arrested and charged in a vacuum! I hope he thinks about his children and gives it up already. JMO

Disgusting piece of trash. So it is who we all thought it was. Though I was trying to believe it wasn't him because then the children lose both parents. What makes a person do this? If you google, there are SO many women killed by their SO lately. What are the signs someone you've known for 20 years will kill you? I simply can't understand why a man would do this to his wife and mother of their children? How does someone think they will actually get away with this bs story and not spend the rest of their pathetic life in prison? It just makes NO sense to me. I think friends and investigators should come out and state what the warnings signs are in each of these cases. I mean, he must have been thinking and planning it out for a while. Or does someone suddenly just snap one day and do this? Again, just trying to make sense. I am currently not on good terms with my husband of 18 years but I don't think he will just someday come into my bedroom and shoot me. Or will he? That sounds terrible. But how does one ever know??

“It’s disturbing the speed at which this occurred,” said defense attorney L. Patrick Mulligan of Dayton law firm Moermond & Mulligan, who is representing Caleb Flynn. “I question the thoroughness” of the investigation.

Mulligan also called his client’s $2 million bond “unnecessarily high” and said he plans to seek a bond reduction.

“It denies him the opportunity to be at the funeral for his wife, which is an unspeakable tragedy,” he said, and also is a disruption to the grieving process.

Caleb Flynn, the couple’s daughters and two Goldendoodles also were home at the time of the shooting.

“The two children in the home had not woke up and (were) still in their bedroom throughout this incident,” the court record said.

So 2 shells at the foot of the bed, his console box open, which is where he says he keeps his gun. That tells me he got up when she was sleeping, went out and got the gun, came back, stood at the foot of the bed and shot her twice. All JMO.

In Iowa, the charge is "nonconsensual termination of a human pregnancy."

Here's the update; this commentator said that Ashley was rumored to be pregnant but that it hadn't been confirmed.
