Lakewood police Cpt. Frank Eschweiler confirmed the husband is stable following the stabbing.

According to First News’ sister station WJW, police have issued a warrant for attempted aggravated murder for Ariel Walters’ connection with the stabbing of the child’s father, which also happened Sunday.

LAKEWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) - Police are still looking for the 1-year-old Lakewood girl that an AMBER Alert was issued for back on Sunday morning. Tuesday, the Lakewood Police Department requested the U.S. Marshals join the search.

*******
“There was no indication that she would hurt their child Choice, so that’s good news; obviously our main concern, as well as Lakewood’s main concern is the welfare of that one-year-old,” said U.S. Marshal, Deputy Vincent Piccoli.

*******
Law Enforcement says efforts have been made to work with family and friends to ensure Choice’s safety, which have also proven unsuccessful.

“So we’ve been trying to communicate with the family and any friends or associates but we’re not getting any cooperation or assistance with that,” said Piccoli.

********
LPD has put an arrest warrant out for Ariel for attempted aggravated murder, with a $500,000 bond.

Anyone with information has been asked to call the Lakewood Police Department at 216-521-6773 or 911.

Piccoli added tips can be left anonymously and there’s up to a $1500 reward for any information that will help.

Listen to the 911 call at the link.

******
A 911 call before the child was taken may have saved the husband’s life.

A witness who was on the way home from bars in Lakewood called 911 Sunday afternoon about a fight taking place between a man and woman at the park.

“She is swinging on him like crazy,” said the caller. “She is fighting on him saying ‘leave me alone.’ She is being really violent toward him. I’m just an anonymous caller.”

Officers arrived to the park within minutes. They found a man lying on the ground, stabbed multiple times. He was in critical condition and rushed to the hospital.

*******
(The article doesn't quote the 911 call correctly. According to the article, the caller says "She is fighting on him saying 'leave me alone.'" Listening to the call, what the caller actually said is "She is fighting on him and he's saying 'leave me alone.'")

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — The Lakewood Police Department's search for a missing one-year-old girl is now in its fourth day Wednesday, with detectives planning to get specialist help from federal agencies if the search prolongs.

*******
Wednesday afternoon, Cpt. Stone told 3 News that they talked to the girl's mother several times on the phone in the earlier days of the investigation, but she wouldn't say where they were.

He then explained that detectives are trying to track the location of her cell phone based off those calls.

“I know that they've worked on some of those aspects and they're working with the technology to try to triangulate or determine exactly where she is," he detailed. "I believe as we speak that's being worked on now.”

*****
They're now hearing rumblings that the mother and child may be somewhere down in the southern U.S., but aren't sure if that's true.

******
Cpt. Stone said with this search starting to drag on, they are very close to bringing in specialist help from federal agencies.
He told us that by the end of this week they'll likely reach out to the U.S. Marshal Office's Fugitive Task Force, the FBI, and national missing children's networks for help.

He also shared an update on the status of the father.
“I am able to say that the male victim is still in the hospital," he said. "However, his condition has improved to where he's stable, so we're happy about that.”

*******

(I'm surprised they haven't already brought in federal agencies.)

It's really good news the father has stabilised. I'd be very worried that the Mom might harm her child and herself in a panic if she learned he had died.

Hopefully, now that he his condition has improved, a negotiator can convince her that it won't be a murder charge, and she can fight it in court, and still have a life. She really needs to stay calm and optimistic right now, if LE is going to be able to recover this sweet baby girl. JMO

It must be a Lakewood PD issue. Cleveland and Cuyahoga County often work with federal agencies in these situations.

Ok, the news report says they’ll reach out to US Marshals and FBI by the end of the week. Lets hope so. The US Marshals can probably trace the mothers cell phone location quickly.
