Yes, but wouldn't the complex also be part of the problem since it appeared bars were missing where a child (and even an adult) could slip through? A parent can't have their eyes on their children 24/7. Most kids playing don't have eyes on them every second. Sure, that's not what happened here (Aunt was napping). Just saying that it just seems like both could be held responsible.

well that's clearly not neglectful but in this case, they said he has escaped several times before ... that's what bothers me, this isn't a one-off case

The child in the case I mentioned did also. This is an every day occurrence for family with level 3 autism.

It sounds like this may have had other factors. I’m curious to see what comes out

IMO it shouldn't be an everyday occurrence regardless of child's propensity to try to wander - parents need to find a way to keep their children safe - locks that the child can't reach are one idea

Here is the gap I was talking about for anyone that didn't see the video of the reporter pointing it out (and showing how he could have slipped through that gap and he's much larger than a 5 year old child. He mentioned that the area below is near where Kayden went missing.

This was in reference to a client I have where locks were appropriately in place and he found a way to break the window.

We can do everything sometimes and it still happens.

Yes we absolutely should take every possible precautions. I don’t feel like they were in this case but we will see. My original point is I won’t jump to they should be charged until we know more about the circumstances.
