I think maybe you are confusing Suboxone with Methadone. Suboxone is not distributed by a clinic like Methadone usually is. It's a sublingual medication, and any DR who writes it has to be trained and must get approved by the DEA. It's usually prescribed by a psychiatist with a specialization in addiction medicine.The Dr writes the script and the addict gets it filled at a pharmacy and takes it home. The addict usually has to pass a urine test every month in order to get another RX for Suboxone, and they visit the DR usually once a month, sometimes more if they are struggling with drug cravings. Suboxone doesn't get the addict high like Methadone can. It helps with withdrawal symptoms and opiate cravings.
Because there's no high, it's not quite as popular as Methadone on the streets.
I have worked for 2 medical practices specializing in addiction medicine/psychiatry. I've had contact with a lot of addicts who were using Suboxone.

Both are strictly controlled around here and there is only 1 clinic in the 3 surrounding counties where either is dispensed. I live in rural Southwest VA and the prescription drug problem here is way out of control. I have a first cousin whose father was facing a very long prison sentence for selling suboxone when he passed away a couple months ago. He was arrested before the tighter controls were implemented but it still happens some with people traveling to neighboring states (we are 30 mins from TN & WV).

IMO, she was not a good mom. She would wake TJ up and tell him he needed to "take care of his kids", after he had worked all night. She kept Kylee pretty much in her room so she wouldn't have to deal with her. Elaina was always in her carrier or the playpen so she didn't have to really watch her.

Was she ever reported to Child Services, especially since she's been rough to her eldest for years?

IMO, she hasn't been happy since their (TJ & AS) relationship started going sour. They were yelling at each other and just general unhappiness in the house and I think she was very aware of it and it upset her that mommy and daddy were fighting. Then at the end of Feb when the living arrangement changed between them, I'm sure she knew of the unhappiness that was going on. When the kids were with TJ and his girlfriend, she made sure she was never far from either one of them, always wanting to be picked up for the contact IMO. Angela never did pay much attention to those kids.

Very young children are affected by separation, they act out, behavior and mood changes. If you think about it, starting around age 6 months, a child will have separation anxiety if they are around someone new and do not see someone familiar. When all they have know in their short life is seeing mom, dad and sister daily and one of those pieces is taken out of the equation, you have effectively disrupted their environment. Compelled with the poor parenting, it makes sense why her pictures lack that sparkle.

Suboxone is also used to treat Hydrocodone/Oxycontin addictions as well...it's used for any opiate addiction. When I worked for the addiction specialists, we had people begging for appointments, and there were not enough DRs certified by the DEA to write Suboxone in my area.


Poor baby Elaina.....caught up in such a mess.

I think one of the reasons it is a popular "street" drug is because it does control cravings and withdrawals - not so much that you get high off it, because you do not. It will make you feel completely normal and very well while in the midst of horrendous withdrawals. That would be appealing to people who abuse sporadically.

ughhhh i can't stop thinking about shaken baby syndrome now this may very well be what happened.

couple things tonight:

does SK know the neighbor of the house that he was throwing up at? has that home been thoroughly searched?

anyone know how long it typically takes for black eyes to heal?

eta: just googled it and saw that it can take up to 10 days for the discoloration to be gone.. hopefully if this is the case, elaina will "magically appear". i wouldn't be surprised if it was angela who stumbled upon her, alive, some place. i would love for this to happen tho!!!

If he grew up there, then possibly he knows someone well enough in the area to hand the baby off to. It would take a pretty good friend to hide a baby from LE though.

Me too! I think shaken baby syndrome is highly likely here.

I hope she'll be found soon!

Maybe the backyard of Angela's parents' home should be checked for recent sign of disturbance ... :/

I'm leaning that way too now after reading that SK may have harmed her before by shaking her and realizing that SBS could explain the bloody nose and black eye. I'm so angry at her <Mod Snip> right now. How could you harm or allow anyone else to harm your baby like that? Why?

OT my (adopted!) son was overdosed by methadone at 6 weeks old. He was rescusitated by EMT.

eta: maybe not so OT.... his birth mother had the idea that the methadone would help him "sleep". This was seen by his 8 year old sister- whom we also adopted. They are 13 and 19 now and GORGEOUS people!!

One of the reasons I worry about that is that thrush is painful, and the poor baby was probably crying a lot and the usual things, like giving her a bottle or a snack, would not help quiet her or put her to sleep.

So the constant crying would be a likely trigger to make someone snap. JMO

You know, after hearing that she has the mentality of an 8th grader, if that is true, I do have some compassion for her. She may not know what the "right" thing to do is, she may feel trapped.

We adopted our 16 year old daughter at age 5.5. She has fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (mom drank while pg), she has complicated memory issues and a lower IQ. Had we not adopted her, I could very well see her in the same situation. My girl can feel "trapped" when caught not doing her chores, schoolwork, etc. Just very basic things. I have to be careful how I word things with her.

This is a good reminder for me to teach her about emergencies should she marry and have children...

Sitting back at the empty lot all day waiting for news, preferably GOOD, but nothing either way yet. We are not flipping out b/c we all believe Angela has taken her out of the house and is hiding her. Her sister Mary has said she heard Angela tell "someone" that she wants to take her and go to Florida so she can start her life over again and TJ will not be able to see Elaina ever again. Also, several months ago a period of about 2 weeks went by that Angela kept TJ from seeing both girls, then suddenly gave in. Angela's mother who lived close to their prior residence, called TJ and said she needed to talk to him, "there's something you need to know." When he went to her apt., Lisa (Angela's mom) told him the reason she kept him from seeing them was that the baby had bruises on her and Angela didn't want TJ to see them. We were also informed that the day after the first interview, she was overheard saying "Oh! I forgot to tell the police that the baby looked like she had a black eye and broken nose, there was dried blood in her nose".
TJ and Angela split for several reasons, the main one being TJ had told her approx. a month before the split that he was tired of her always yelling and screaming at the kids and she had the tendency to pick up Kylee (4 yr old) roughly by the arm amongst other things. He gave her a month to change her attitude/actions, when she did not, he decided they were done. On top of that, TJ came home from work early one night (he works 3rd shift) and caught her on the couch with Steven.
Both girls are "daddy's girls", she may think IMO that if she can get Elaina away at this young age that she can change her feelings. Kylee did tell me yesterday that she slept with Elaina Sunday night on the floor.

You mentioned in a previous postings regarding a rumor heard that Angela was going to move to Florida with the girls so Terry couldn't see them anymore.

With the very small window of opportunity for Elaina to "disappear" from the Steven King home, is it possible that the baby was passed off to somebody, a friend of Angela (out the back door) and was taken to Florida, with the plan for Angela to somehow get Kylee and then head to Florida also?

Can you think of any close friends/associates of Angela that would have helped her (even unwittingly of the circumstances) to get the girls out of Ohio and into Florida? Or does Angela have family living in Florida or another State?

And you said she doesn't have a vehicle or even drive so somebody had to be the transportation for her whether she actually had these plans recently or in the future.

Just a thought here, but if searches conducted by PD are being held off, then a family member can contact Texas Equusearch. Most Ohio Chapter members are in the Cincinnati area, but I know that they do travel.

TES is one of the names that I look for in cases where the family refuses to give up. Somehow they lend not only help but credibility to a missing child case.

I pray that they are utilized in this situation. There is no reason not to do so. If the family behaves as if there ought to be searches still taking place, the public will follow suit, and if the family behaves as if there is a forgone conclusion and searching is pointless (like, for example, if the child's MOTHER DOESN"T SEARCH), the public is more likely to, again, follow suit and presume she knows something we don't.

I would get TES in there ASAP - like, yesterday.
