(Nancy Grace is covering Elaina now, I'll try to transcribe) -
Mystery witness says she saw baby and mom between 7 - 9:45 am, says child appeared fine, mom was buying honey buns and fruit punch, she's positive it was mom because mom used to work at the gas station, so Nancy we wondered if anyone had seen the child the day she went missing and apparently someone may have.
she saw angela steinfurth with the missing baby between 7-9:45 am and the baby goes missing around what 2pm, is that right?
Right, and you know she didn't notice the baby was injured, the bump on the head, the bloody nose, the black eye, she didn't see any of that, she says that's something she definitely would've noticed. now the video surveillance was down so they couldn't check that, but detectives have (missed these last few words)...
(At this point NG says there should be legislation that businesses making $X revenue must have working video surveillance systems for their own safety.)
RS is with us, TJ is with us, Terry Sr is with us, RS I wanna know what you make of reports that female inmates may have given statements implicating your daughter that she madea confession behind bars.
I heard that but I don't think it's true. That's just people talkin to, you know, I heard the same thing too, you know, let's see the proof, you know, if you'r'e gonna talk let's put proof on the table.
Mr. S - if what the woman said is true, it's damning to your daughter.. let me see MR. S. please.. you gotta think as a prosecutor long and hard before you put an inmate on the stand because ther are all kinds of pitfalls with that, becuase first of all you don't know she may be a bank robber or something herself, you have to put her on the stand and put her under fire on cross examination, on the other hand if she does exist and this is true then that's a torpedo for the defense. Now, Terry Sr what do you make of it?
I'm gonna take it with a grain of salt until LE tells me it's definitely true or definitely not true.
