My question - and I think everyone is in bed right now - is whether there are any more OFFICIAL searches going on or is just the personal search teams, friend, family, volunteers going out? It would be very telling to me coupled with that the postponed her hearing. Maybe I'm just reading into it but I do hope there is a break in the next day or so. This needs to end and this baby needs to either be with the family members that love her, or needs to have peace.

The picture at the link finally broke me down and I need to take a break from this and hope today brings some conclusions. She is so precious, like a doll and looks so sad at the same time. It was so hard for my ex and I to have a baby and I cannot imagine my life without my girl. What these parents do to their children and take for granted. I cannot wrap my head around such evil toward a child. What fright must have been going on in that poor baby's mind is incomprehensible.

There's been a great deal of speculation about AS's poor cognitive abilities without the administration of an IQ test, her possible drug addiction without the administration of a drug test/assessment, etc. Why is it "dangerous" to speculate about a mental illness as possibly being the cause of the very unnatural maternal behavior of abusing or failing to protect your child from abuse and disposing of her body (though I pray to God those allegations aren't true!)?

I'm a licensed attorney and yet I don't find it "dangerous" when unlicensed attorneys or non-attorneys apply the facts of a case to the law or when they evaluate the evidence presented, or comment on trends in certain kinds of cases, etc. in fact, I encourage it. It isn't brain surgery. It doesn't require a JD. It's a little bit of logic and reasoning but mostly just common sense.

Rather than label AS as some kind of bad person, a gutter-rat, who is a stupid junkie, I prefer to dig a bit deeper. I think she was severely traumatized at some point in her life. It explains how she can be a loving, nurturing mother on June 1st and an abusive or neglectful one on the 2nd. There's a great deal of hope in that armchair diagnosis. Trauma can be healed. Sadly, one of the best ways for AS to have healed her own childhood wounds was to love and protect her children the way she deserved to be loved and protected as a child.

Sorry, there are COUNTLESS people who have been traumatized at one point or even ALL their lives and don't do things like this. I don't feel a bit sorry for her nor am I going to give out excuses for her at all.

The videos of after this first happened,, with her self serving nonsense and complete non caring for her "missing" hurt baby sealed how I feel about her. Selfish, lying, little waste of air.

Thanks a LOT ! Anyone can discuss the law , but not anyone can try a case in a court room ! So anyone can speculate as to AS'e mental capability, but not anyone can prescribe her medication or order her into a psyche facility. Is that sort of what you're saying? What' s the harm in speculating when we're not treating her condition since we're not psyche drs. Or that's how I read your statement. Almost all of us know someone with this or that mental condition/disorder/illness so it's not wrong to say she acts like she's got this or that.
What I was thinking previously is many drugs, street drugs and even pharms can mimic different mental disorders with their side effects so that could be at play. The other thought was many people with UNdiagnosed mental disorders to turn to street drugs and alcohol to quit their symptoms, most of the time not even knowing they have a condition, only that they feel compelled to stay altered in some way. I think it's plenty fair to say that AS either has an undiagnosed mental condition or she has a substance or alcohol problem that mimics symptoms of a mental condition. If it's the latter, then it probably loops back to the former and shes' got a condition she's not even aware of !

Your correct in the fact that people with mental illness abuse drugs/alcohol etc.. But it can also be the diagnosed ones too, there's been numerous studies that show the correlation between good physical health is pertinent in upholding good mental health. People with mental illness generally suffer more bouts of ill health which in turn affects their mental state.. There are also four key areas (when diagnosed) to help /keep the patient recovered.
1. Self worth /esteem
2. Others opinion of you / interpersonal relations
3. Attachment
4. Sexuality
If one of these is slightly out of whack for someone suffering mental illness it can mean that person may experience setbacks.

We do know that AS suffered depression, ferretmommy said this in thread 2 I believe, and there are numerous other afflictions shr may have had.

Although I respectfully disagree with the earlier comment of BPD being that these sufferers will more often than not self harm, it is possible she had NPD or AsPD or even quite simply PTSD or post natal... The brain does funny thing when you have s mental illness

I agree 100%. I understand the desire to "explain" her actions with these labels but there has been nothing to suggest that Angela is mentally ill, drug addicted (only marijuana use has been confirmed) or even intellectually challenged. I'm not going to try to excuse or justify her behavior when it is quite possible that she is just a horrible parent and human being. She is no different than countless other young, self absorbed mothers except she took putting herself first to a tragic extreme.
