I found the Grand Jury indictment I hadn't seen explicitly posted here. Sorry if I am wrong and missed it. This is my first second post! (I found the indictment in this article from their local news channel.)

He was appointed two attorneys who are certified to defend a capital murder case.

During the proceedings, he was asked about his two different last names. “My birth name is Darnell Olgetree and my adopted name is Darnell Jones. But ever since I was 19, I’ve been under Ogletree,” he told the judge.

WTHeck is with the name changes?? SMH. Trouble at home when he was young?
Could he be running from more than just this offense?

So, so sad for those who knew and loved Kei'Mani.

Looks like he was in the system, got adopted and name change and then used his bio parents name when he was old enough to. This is actually pretty common when people age out

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Attorneys representing the man accused of kidnapping and killing 13-year-old Kei’Mani Latigue are looking to have the death penalty specifications removed from his charges.

Defense lawyers for Darnell Jones, who also goes by Darnell Ogletree, are seeking the dismissal of the death penalty specifications in the case, citing constitutional concerns. He’s facing more than a dozen charges to which he’s pleaded not guilty.

At this time, the prosecutor’s office hasn’t responded in court to the motion. Jones is scheduled to be back in court on Monday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A judge has denied a motion to dismiss the death penalty specifications for Darnell Jones, the man accused of killing 13-year-old Kei'Mani Latigue in March.

The motion was filed by Jones' attorneys on July 15, and the state filed its opposition on July 29.

A court document filed on Sept. 3 from Judge Michael Goulding says "all issues raised by the defense have been rejected and the constitutionality of the capital specifications has been upheld."
