During the pretrial for Edward Wagner, Deering chose not to hear arguments on over 30 defense motions as the bulk were submitted the same day. Instead, Deering set a motion hearing for Oct. 8.

BW is at Hanover. There is a jail on 2nd but that is where they cook the food etc. There is no way that they would ever allow BW out in the general population. They have a high profile pod and that is where he would be located. The high profile pod and main jail is on Hanover. MOO.

Prosecutors have also turned over a photo of a 1911.22 firearm and a photo of a tattoo belonging to George Wagner. The discovery also includes hundreds of crime scene photos, receipts from Walmart where prosecutors claim the Wagners bought special shoes to commit the crimes and cell tower records for Billy Wagner from March and April 2016. The discovery also includes a spreadsheet of messages related to custody and Facebook screen grabs.

The document outlining the discovery also revealed that investigators searched a well at the Wagner family’s former farm on October 31, 2017. An ATF report from that search was also provided. Authorities announced the indictments two weeks after the search of the well and said they had become aware of a homemade silencer, which was the final piece of forensic evidence in the case.

Former Attorney General Mike DeWine said, at the time of the arrests, that control and custody of a child Jake Wagner had with Hanna Rhoden was part of the motive in the murders. DeWine also said there was an “undercurrent” of drugs in the case and that the Wagners and Rhodens had been friends for years.

Prosecutors have claimed four Wagner family members developed a “sophisticated” plan to kill eight members of the Rhoden and Gilley families.

Jake Wagner, the youngest member of his family charged in the Rhoden and Gilley murders, appeared in a Pike County courtroom Thursday. The hearing was fairly routine.

Judge Randy Deering ordered TV cameras to not show Jake Wagner in handcuffs because his attorneys had asked that he not appear in court in cuffs to prevent tainting the jury pool. Judge Deering said the Pike County Sheriff’s Office does not have a stun belt that can be placed on Wagner during court appearances. Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader said in a press release Thursday that he is working on finding a restraint.

Prosecutors also requested an order prohibiting Wagner from discussing the case with any of his family members who have been indicted, including his grandmothers, Rita Newcomb and Fredericka Wagner. Similar orders have been granted in the other cases.

Special prosecutor Angie Canepa said she did not object to Wagner speaking to family members who are not indicted, but she said she did not want them passing messages to other family members. Wagner’s attorney, Gregory Meyers, said he did not want the order to include attorneys because he may want to speak to those facing charges, with their attorney’s permission, to prepare for trial.

“Not conceding for one moment we’re going to get to the second phase, but if we do, we have to be prepared for mitigation to have investigated the character, history and background of Jake Wagner. Some of that information may flow from his grandmothers,” Meyers said.

Judge Deering said the attorneys may talk to whomever they wish to prepare for trial. Jake Wagner is being held in the Franklin County Jail and will be back in court in April. His mother, Angela, and grandmothers will also appear in court in March.

OB, say you were an inmate at Butler and had to go by EMS to the nearest hospital, which one would you most likely be taken to? Just questions...since I've never been there. Thank you so much.

However, there is no way that they would allow BW to escape. He's made threats, accused of killing 8 and he is a big person. IF the jail medical couldn't fix him up then the Sheriff would send a lot of cops to watch over him. All JMO.

Several inmates at our jail (Ross County) have been transferred to two other counties (*Miami and Morrow*) due to being at capacity here. Ross is short 25 beds due to ongoing construction in that wing.

Not a three way call but grandma had Angela on speaker phone and Chris had Jake on speaker phone talking with Rita, JMO Jake should have lost phone and mail privileges also

Yes, Robin Wagner's name was brought up by AC in court the other day as one of the parties that AW was in contact with by phone. She didn't go into a lot of detail, but I think Robin was one of the people AW was trying to relay messages through.

GW4 had a trial date set for September 4 but it was cancelled due to overwhelming amounts of evidence to pour through. No trial dates set for anyone except Rita.

Rita came close to getting her bond revoked.
