We know she's ok now and hopefully recovering, but someone needs to be held accountable for allowing Jake to get custody and then for the family to take her to Alaska.

Anything could have happened once they took off. The Wags and LE knew they were suspects in the Rhoden murders, yet they were allowed to keep that girl in their home for TWO YEARS. Someone should lose their job for that. JMO What the heck was that judge thinking?

Judge Rosenberger, IIRC

Double post. My apologies.

His tattoo looks "mangled" at best. It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't get someone inside to try to burn it off or do it himself.

The jail can't stop Billy from trying to cover his tattoo in some way before his photo unless they put him in solitary. Sounds like something Billy would do.

We need to remember we do not know if this is even going on at all. Could be his tattoo is fine and this is all about something else or a misreading of the video footage.

I'm just catching up with video from today's hearing. I'm noticing that Jake seems pretty jumpy, he reacts quickly to every sound ... this is before the judge came in. Also, his eyes are still dead but his eyebrows are getting a workout.
Just finishing the blah blah blah from his atty. Headed back to finish watching.
The guy is seriously disturbed. IMO

Something happened around the time they tried going after James Manley again, with the GPS tracker on his truck. Somewhere along the line, they probably figured out that Jake Wagner hacked Manley's Facebook messaging app or texts/cell phone to make it appear he had communicated with Jake just before the murders. D'oh!

JMO

Yes...but...JM smiled all through his hearing. I loved it.

Remember when the judge gave Jake permanent custody there was no indication to the judge that Jake had just murdered his child's mother.

BCI did not investigate the Wagners in 2016 like they then did in 2017.

Took over a year for that first major search.

Too busy accusing the Manleys asking for multiple lie detector tests and putting GPS on JM's vehicle and having JM arrested. Waste of time.

I wonder why BCI did not seem to suspect the Wagners right away?

I think they did. They just couldn't show their hand that early in the game. Remember, they were going for convictions, not arrests.

Can someone please post a link to JW'S hearing today? TIA

Yes, he kept looking around the courtroom. Not sure who or what he expected to see. He did look a few times to the area where anyone from his family would be sitting. Not sure who was there as the new camera position doesn't allow the video to show who sits on that side of the gallery.

Yep, he looked like he maybe was expecting someone. I noticed he didn't want to sit on the outside chair, opting instead to sit away from the railing/people. I'd be pretty alert if I were the stenographer... A Mass murderer within feet of me. Yikes.

I think one or two investigators did, but were overruled for quite a while as they kept the focus on friends and family of the victims. Sad.

I agree. Just watched this for the first time. JW appears jittery, scared and paranoid.

And I think Reader knew from the first moment.

Doubt if anyone was there.

I don’t know if they suspected the W’s when JW got custody just a month after the murders. But within the next few months they definitely was suspects.

When reader said the killers were local and that was his belief. He said this about 6 months after the murders

IMO the gps tracker put on JM vehicle was a ploy to throw off the W’s, they were probably being bugged at this point and maybe this was done to get them to talk

If so, it was really cruel to JM and his family. Per Leonard, it cost him a lot of money and caused him to miss several days of work.

Yes!
Fired from his job! Shame.
