Oh ya. The 2019 calls where Angie calls her grandma to get Rita on the phone to tell her what to do. Tells her what words to use to describe the custody documents and tells her not to testify against them.

That ship has sailed. If Angie goes to trial both her mom and son will testify against her. Might as well plead guilty now. Save the aggravation of wasting everyone's time and money.

Wagner trial costs:

"The first estimate has been, with everything from the appeals and whatever, you're talking $2-4 million at a minimum," said Pike County Commissioner Blaine Beekman.

Prosecution of Wagners in Rhoden murders to take 'years'
Pike County gets $100,000, promises more, to help with Rhoden case - Portsmouth Daily Times

Pike County never had that kind of money so they get their $ from the State of Ohio tax payers.

Ohio State legislators to introduce bill to help pay for Capital Case costs statewide

Pike County Prosecotor Rob Junk, second from left, is all smiles after Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost handed him a $100,000 check to help pay for prosecuting the Rhoden muders. Looking on are, from right, State Sen Rob Peterson, R-17, and State Rep. Shane Wilkin, R-91.

Last year, appointed counsel fees in Capital Cases were set statewide to $125 an hour with no cap on the hours, said Cincinnati attorney James Bogen.

"It's not uncommon for a typical Capital Case to involve over 500 hours of work, and that's without all the stuff to go through in the Rhoden case," Bogen said.

The state public defender’s office would take on the costs for one defendant, this is who represents Jake.

Ohio AG Office: ‘unable to identify’ all Pike County costs
FOX19 NOW Jody Barr
Updated: Oct. 25, 2016 at 12:40 PM EDT

The 2 1/2 year Rhoden investigation was very costly as well

The Pike County spending included:
  • $12,994.00 for vehicle and mobile home towing
  • $25,148.36 for rental fees, portable restrooms, surveillance cameras, fuel, coolers, undercover truck, and bed bug treatments for one of the Rhoden crime scenes
  • $97,498 to two contractors to move the crime scenes, secure the Union Hill and Left Fork Road properties and evidence preservation
  • $69,130.79 for overtime pay for Pike County deputies.
During our Sept. 26 meeting with Sheriff Reader, he told us this wasn't a total accounting of the Rhoden investigation costs.

That Hearing was important for George as his trial date was set (finally) almost 3 1/2 years in jail by the time it gets underway. 3 months allotted for his trial.

I wonder if GW4's attorneys hired this video company to appear in court and record everything so they would have their own copy. Just a thought.

ETA: Clarification, referring to info in your document posted earlier (AW0.1) for appearance fee, 6/21/2021, State of Ohio vs. GW4, $180.

The plaintiff isn't AW. The State of Ohio is the plaintiff. The W4 and 2 grandmothers are defendants.

I know, that's just a typo from my copying it.

I think GW4's attorneys are doing all they can to run up costs for the state and Pike County. It's their way of pressuring the prosecution to give GW4 a better deal. It may also be the motivation for the other 2 defendants as well.

I think you are correct. However, I'm not so sure the defense attorney's are the sole shot callers. I more inclined to believe it's the last act of defiance from the arrogant, entitled and murderous clan. Jmo

Could well be. Can't say anything would surprise me at this point. JMO

They all had a video recording that was billed at one point. Those invoices were posted. JW had one on April 12th. If I run across them again I will post for you here. Could it be that going forward they may start recording them, maybe.

I believe the one for AW was incorrect and had G4 date/name on it and I believe the one for G4 was the correct date but had AW name on it. Its confusing, it took me a while to figure it out or at least think I figured it out. I think when it was billed the wrong information was put on those two. It seems that the one for AW should have been an invoice for G4 (he had court dates on 4-28 and 6-21)

I suspect there is also someone behind the scenes pushing GW4's team's buttons, putting a lot of pressure on them to get GW4 out of these charges at all cost. Fat chance that will happen.

Also, IMO, GW4's attorney who is of stocky build and has his head shaved really seems like a showboat. If he could somehow pull it off and get GW4 out of this, it would be a huge bonanza for his career. I'm sure he's pulling out all the stops.

LOL.

I'm sure JW's confession really threw a monkey wrench in things for the three remaining W4 teams. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they start video/audio recording everything including court appearances, meetings, conference calls, etc., trying to find a chink in the prosecution's armor somewhere. Good luck on that! JMO

The video invoices are posted above in the previous post. It seems two hearings of G4 were recorded on 4-28 and 6-21 even though they have one of them as AW's (incorrect). She has not been in court since 6-24-20. There could be other video invoices that have not been billed yet possibly.

RIP to the victims, cannot believe the continuing stress their loved ones have had to endure for all this time and longer.

Yes, I am sure it will be a long wait for them until GW4's trial in April 2022. Maybe resolution of the other two cases will come before then, I can only hope. Time will tell.

I don’t get why G4 hearings were recorded… when anyone can pull them up on the news site that was there or the internet? To me that's waste of money. Does anyone know why the hearings would need to be recorded?
