Ok, I had a date on my calendar for a hearing for Jake Wagner. I'm assuming that's been called off. Any news? Nothing in his docket either, other than a notice that was sent to all parties regarding the scheduling of a status hearing.

There are no future hearing dates for him. Hmmm. I could swear they were going to have another status hearing. I don't think his case is closed /s

The Pike County Court View web site is a little janky this morning. Maybe they're working on it.

ETA 2 - Nevermind. This was the date originally scheduled for Jake's trial to begin. My, so much has happened since then. Hope we hear something soon about the other cases being settled.

Next date on my calendar is for

GW 4 on September 13, 1:30. Jury trial is scheduled for April 4, 2022 at 8 am

GW 3 on September 16 at 11:00 am

Canepa said all of them including Billy were home on Peterson Rd that night watching movies including Boondock Saints. Scheiderer said George's phone was at Peterson Rd that night. FW said "They weren't anywhere near that place (UHR) that night."

They claim they were home that night, that is their alibi. An alibi is a claim you were not at a certain crime scene when the crime occurred.

I'm not sure, but I'll see if I can find it. I suppose we really need to have some volunteers sit down and transcribe that entire testimony. It was very long, but very important. I've searched the video on YT and haven't found any version that has the captioning feature, so it has to be done bit by bit.

For example the exact time in the Hearing Canepa says the Wagners were home watching the movie Boondock Saints the night of the murders etc....

They watched the videos THAT night before the murders.

Right before they went out to commit the murders they watched Boondock Saints.

BCI traced George's phone to having been on Peterson Rd. that night.

Yes in the Bond Hearing George's phone came up and Scheiderer said his phone was at Peterson Rd. that night but Scheiderer did not know if George was with his phone or not.

There was nothing to prove that George stayed home with his phone.

We know George left it there.

I have a theory that Angie (who I think was home) sent texts from Jake's phone to make it look like Jake was home on Peterson Rd that night. Such as the text to JM that night according to LM.

Also, Angie texting JM to bring suspicion onto JM, which happened. (I think @Betty P would agree the Wagners wanted to set up the Manleys, make them look guilty)

The Manleys became #1 suspects it looks like.

WAVERLY — A clip from the popular 1999 movie, “The Boondock Saints,” is being used as evidence in the Pike County murders where eight members of the Rhoden Family were murdered in their homes in 2016, according to court documents.

The film is about two brothers in Boston who take on a deadly form of vigilante justice by murdering mobsters and other criminals. The killers in the movie use silencers on their guns, the same killing style that members of the Wagner family are accused of using to execute the Rhodens.

What Rhodens could they set up? Chris's siblings? Chris's nieces and nephews?

Not realistic that the Rhodens killed their own family members. Evidently
the deranged Wagners thought it was realistic for JM to kill his sister and niece and nephews and for BJM to help.

They knew she fed Chris's animals and would be there in the morning etc... They learned all the family's routines through illegal surveillance.

Sick Wagners.

They left the babies in blood for 8 hours. Child endangerment, child abuse. I guess no charges filed because they were not the legal guardians, someone mentioned this before. Ohio law.

The court has not responded to the motions from George’s attorneys regarding a court date before September 13th over the prosecution asking for more time.

Not alot of time plus labor day takes off a business day.

They filed just exactly 3 weeks before the September 13th court date.
So I think the court didn't have time to get everyone together before the 13th.

However, there still should be some type of response filed by the prosecution which maybe will be filed this week? I would venture the guess that something will come up on the Docket this week.

I have been doing some reading about the case and remembering when I posted that I did not think the state had much of a case, this was pre JW plea deal, even without his plea I can now see the state has a solid case, and am seeing how insular the family dynamic was.

I think the final thing that tipped them over into actual starting to seriously plan the murders was Hannah having a new baby and the realisation that she was now fully out from their control thus they had less control of Sophia.

The state made a very good point (think it was at a bail hearing) that they made those fraudulent custody documents giving custody of the children to Angela in the event of their deaths as they had knew they were soon going to be going to be murdering all of the family and that many of that family were armed and it was a just in case anything went wrong so she could keep the kids.

It is just all so horrible and sad as it wasn't like Jake didn't get to see Sophia, but having some custody was obviously not enough for them they had managed to get control of GW JR son and now it was time to get control of Sophia. The only saving grace is that both children have been removed from ever having to live within that family.
