Had individual interview folders made up with records etc. They flew up to North Dakota and Air Force went with them. Big team including special prosecutors etc.

Once got there and got cell phone service, found out the Wagners planned to come back via Sweetgrass Montana. So they flew there as soon as they could

"We scrambled" ... had to coordinate on the fly with Montana officials over the weekend. Also altered wiretap arrangements to include body wire.

Each Wagner was to get two separate BCI agents for interviews. They were treated as suspects "the gig was up at that point"

All the paperwork to the intercept was done for ND. Air National Guard had to fly then to Montana and BCI had to scramble to do MT paperwork before W's got to border in MT! Incredibly lucky for them!

Replying to
@jamespilcher
And under Ohio law, agents are required to record all interviews with suspects in serious crimes (rape, aggravated murder)

After those interviews, they were released. Billy released first, then Angela, then George and his son Bulvine, then Jake and his daughter Sophia

At the risk of being incorrect ....

Didn't the "laser focus" happen after they were all in Alaska?
Yes. Its a little cringe-y at times listening to how they did the investigation. I keep wishing they had gotten more help from the FBI early on. It would have helped some. An interstate-international investigation was something they weren't accustomed to doing.

With all the tools at their disposal, it seems incredibly lazy to burn the DVR.

BCI is still able to trace that DVR to the purchase. Wagners could have chopped it up, melted it down, but instead left it recognizable.

So this burnt DVR Security System was installed at Peterson Rd. Why'd they burn it?

The past several minutes of testimony was great! Was anyone watching? Listening?

BCI bought an indentical unit to the one found on the receipt they got from the search warrant. And it appears to be same make and model of the one found in burn pit.

Heard most of it, I was listening from the kitchen. Cringed a little, wished FBI had been helping a little with the border stuff and questioning.
