Every now and then I get a creepy feeling that for Angela it was also about her level of control and power over her husband and sons— that she could manipulate them into doing anything for her, including murder. JMO.
That's exactly what it was,

Judge has jury brought up to courtroom to release them for remainder of the day.

Listening to the attys and judge discussing recordings. I have to agree that some that AC wants to present have been testified to ad nauseum and doesn't present GW's part in the murders. I don't think any of the recordings will, as I understand them. They knew they were being recorded. This trial has been drug out. I understand the state...and I'm on their side...wants the jury to see enough to convict GW and I think they have seen and heard enough to do that. Minus a video of the actual murders at every scene, it is clear that GW4 was there, had a weapon, conspired to plan and cover up. People have been convicted and sentenced to LWOP and DP on less. The state needs to rest and let the defense flounder at presenting some sort of case for their client.
I think there is NOTHING as credible as hearing the accused on tape speaking for themselves. We can hear others say this is how it was, they voted on things, they were intertwined, they acted as one, accounts were shared, etc. but when we hear it on recording, it isn't a matter of do we believe someone else, it's now we hear it for ourselves. so even if it's something we've heard before, have we hard it from one from one of the W's? The most damning things I've seen/heard were George's own actions and statements. His text to his dad, him screaming to his son, him chatting with his mom about the house going in his name and he didn't even see it. Those things showed me he his intent. He warned his dad because he knew it was not good BCI was there. He was upset and screaming about Vine because he was rattled and scared. He didn't bat an eye about his mommy getting a house in his name. He was moving to Alaksa with them and he didn't care that his mommy was using his credit to get them a home. This more than anything showed me that what others said about how they operated was in fact true because we saw behaviors from George himself that spoke loud and clear. So hearing that he knew about the bug detector will be huge. Hearing anything they discuss that shows they worked together or anything that can corroborate other testimony will just remove doubts from the minds of the jurors. THAT is why the defense is protesting to even ones that seem silly... each has a purpose to just remove a little doubt from the jury about something someone else has said or done.

Yikes, its getting heated.

Nash and Parker have very little to work with, so they're fighting to block as much of this testimony as possible.

Good question. Maybe one of our attorneys will drop by to answer that question. @PrairieWind
What was the question? Sorry, its hard to keep up since I only have time to check in occasionally here.

They're sending jury home for day and they're to be back at 9:30. Hope is all the recordings will be ready by that point. Final count of those banned is 14. Lawyers meeting at 8 a.m. to finalize recordings.

8 more to be looked at later.

AC just suggested to judge they send jury home. Why did they make the jury sit around for hours for nothing? but. b b

I'm sorry but I think Deering runs his courtroom too slow. I think they are sending the jury home too much to solve issues that could have been delt with years ago. I try really hard not to come on here complaining and being negative because I get there are 4 defendants and it's A DP case and covid caused a 3 month delay in the hearings etc....

But I think there are issues that had plenty of time to be resolved before seating a jury and that the jurors should have consistancy and not drive to court then sit around for hours waiting, then be sent home, then sent home early, then take a week day off, etc...

I blame the judge, otherwise, I like this judge alot. But the "Captain" is responsible for running a tight ship.

We found out during the trial that one way she got her mom, Rita Newcomb, to lie for her - Rita saying she signed the fake custody documents when she didn't - was because Angela told her mom that she, Angela, would be hurt or killed if her mom didn't do this for her.

This doesn't even make sense. There was no one who would do anything to her.

Notice how Angela went to the extreme to get her way, saying things that made no sense. Accusations of non existent child SA, accusations of poisoning babies, children, even poisoning George's drink.

This lady would say and do anything to have her way. Now she is stuck being told what to do 24/7.

Karma.

There is a post on here where someone thinks Angie could get out early, like in only 15 years for good behavior and whatever.

Absolutely not! She will not get out until she serves a full 30 years. She will be 78 years old. No parole, no early release. And the judge warned her it was conditional, she had to testify truthfully at the trials and follow the rules.

I agree but I also think the defense is responsible for a lot of the delay. They bring something up and the judge has little choice but to entertain it.

The judge did jab at the prosecution, along with the defense joining in, by saying as far as he knows no other recordings will be introduced.

I too think much of this could've been handled earlier, and without dragging the jury around.

They've got one juror that's developed a problem with walking. I would bet too much sitting in court and waiting areas. She was listening remotely at the end of today.

Wow, I hadn't heard that, not good. Poor jurors. They are lucky they have alot of alternate jurors left, at this rate they may need them. I think they used one already.

Defense in this Case definitely has caused delays at the last second. They don't have a good defense, no real defense, so they delay and get as much evidence thrown out as possible.

Defense can't blame other suspects for the murders, Jake and Angela took away their defense that other suspects committed the murders. No Cartels, no drug gangs, no revenge from someone, etc...

Jake and Angela made it clear it was committed just by the 4 Wagners, no one else to blame.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask but I’ve been looking and can’t find Jake’s arrest warrant? Or the paper that says exactly what LE said the Wagner’s did. Can someone post a link or tell me how to find it?

Jmo Jake’s story of truck isn’t added up or the state’s video’s of trucks are not the trucks they drove. Something is off. His whole thing of where they were when shooting and all is a little fishy. I think they showed Jake what they thought they had and he took a little truth and a little lies created a story to save his life and save his mother’s life. He carried lock picks in his wallet and was very good at it he said, but used a knife and broke the tip. And if the knife he used was in bucket the top wasn’t broke. Jmo
This is true. But I think the truck is the one they put the plywood in. Now did they keep it in there after making it? Did he tell GW4, we'll use it as a hunting hide? But the truck did have the holes drilled where JW said it would. EDIT: They took it out to take the truck to GW3's niece that morning.

The Prosecution did come up with decent points. I'd have thought they'd film all of them getting into and out of the truck and with props. They were told not to use any props though.

Bill Bodziak, called the godfather of shoe print analysis could not say which man wore the shoes. I did find the answer to my question about that.

I think AC got enough of the recordings in today that it will be a nice push at the end, as long as they can present everything in clear bullet point fashion in closing, it should be clear for the jury in order to make their decision. I think it will be guilty at least on the majority of counts.

22 counts, it's going to take a while to get through the finish. But we still have to wait on the defense first and they're going to keep trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat. The wheels of justice...

Wagners spent time taking the false bed apart right after the murders. Must've been Jake that said that, maybe Angela, I've forgotten.

Sorry, I stepped away.

We were discussing how Judge Deering chose not to run for re-election. His term expires on Feb 8, 2023. The only candidate on the ballot to fill Judge Deering's vacancy is Rob Junk, who has been Pike County prosecutor for many years. Junk is now on the prosecution team for George Wagner IV's trial.

If Judge Deering finishes this trial before his term ends, the next trial scheduled for the Rhoden family massacre case is Billy Wagner. IIRC they have tentatively scheduled Billy's trial to begin early next year.

If Rob Junk becomes the new judge for Pike County Common Pleas Court, does he have to recuse himself from presiding over Billy Wagner's trial because he served as prosecutor on all 4 Wagners?

As if things couldn't get more complicated, haha.

No
I don't think efficient hauling was the goal.
No, I agree, but they'd have left hay straggles all up and down the highway, and possibly the potential for a bale falling off. I think it's a thing that JW tossed in from memory, maybe used hay to hide the truck, but it just doesn't sound feasible.

That's another reason I don't think they had the hay on top. Extra time. They had to be fast and take it apart and get the truck to GW3's niece at nearly sunup wasn't it?

But hay dropped along the road wouldn't be so out of place with so many farms around. Without a report to police that a truck load of hay was seen leaving the scene, they may not give it much attention.

One layer of hay, or no hay at all, it seems to have worked.

I think he's finished, but I have to give the defense credit for their defense of a man claiming total innocence. If AC points out, as OP did, that there's zero WTF moment from G4 after the border interrogation, that should seal the deal right there.
